Music

i live in music like it’s both a job and a lifestyle. cavetown has been my top artist every year since middle school, but you’ll also find me obsessing over jeff buckley, dominic fike, gigi perez, team dresch, 2SIX3 (my friend’s band, yes i stan), ttssfu, finn wolfhard, the beaches, radiohead, deftones, and lucy dacus. my vinyl collection is a shrine, my hundreds of inherited cds from my dad are basically family, and my record player runs my life. i make playlists like they’re my career, go to live shows like it’s a religion, and yes, i’ll loudly debate why an album deserves more attention than anyone thinks. my obsession probably scares normal people (but normal people are boring anyway lmao)

Movies

not a super huge movie person, but i have my obsessions: bottoms, but i'm a cheerleader, harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban, turtles all the way down, and basically anything that makes me feel deeply (aka the hunger games). huge stranger things stan and forever crying over heartstopper. i watch what i love obsessively, quote everything, probably overanalyze the emotional beats, and am STILL debating if i'm going to watch i saw the tv glow.

Television

not much of a tv person, but i will absolutely throw on youtube and watch funkyfrogbait, turtlewithhat, or filmcooper. rewatching the same two series like my life depends on it. honorable mention to my childhood favorite, ruby gloom. barely use my tv, but as jake webber once said: always have something on the tv during a party, consider it a free decoration (take that as you may.)

Books

mostly a poetry reader, but i love the foundling, aristotle’s works, sylvia plath, and as i previously mentioned turtles all the way down, and the hunger games series. currently hoping to read sunburn by chloe michelle howarth.

Heroes

robin skinner, claire holt, david bowie, ezra butler; people who turn pain into art, who speak their hearts even when the world ignores them. anyone who makes the ordinary feel electric, who fills silence with music, words, or small acts of chaos that somehow make everything beautiful. <3
