So I decided to relive my childhood and boot up Pokémon Stadium.
Big mistake.

Nobody warned me that using rental Pokémon is basically choosing suffering.

The AI in this game does NOT play fair.
It reads your moves. It predicts switches. It crits at the worst possible moment. And somehow your rental Pokémon always have the most cursed movesets imaginable.

Why does everything have 3 Normal-type moves?
Why is my Thunder missing every time?
Why does the CPU’s Blizzard hit like divine punishment?

I made it through a few cups. Barely.
But the later rounds? Absolutely brutal.

This game is not nostalgia. This is psychological warfare in polygon form.

So now we’re doing it the right way.

I’ve started building a proper Pokémon Blue team — hand-raised, no rental nonsense.

Grinding levels. Planning movesets. Actually thinking about type coverage like it’s 1999 again.

When that team is ready, we’re running it back.
