Twin Peaks ( both runs) , The Leftovers, Hannibal ( the Bryan Fuller one ), oldschool XFiles episodes that actually scared people, occasionally Midnight Mass or Brand New Cherry Flavor for the mood.

Gothic & existential classics: Poe, Lovecraft ( the cosmic dread ones ), Anne Rice ( especially Interview… and The Vampire Lestat ), Baudelaire, Nietzsche, Camus, Angela Carter's bloody fairy tales, Shirley Jackson, Caitlín R. Kiernan when I want modern elegant darkness, some Cormac McCarthy for the apocalyptic poetry.

Those with soul and blood – where pixels hide existential dilemmas, and the atmosphere is thicker than mist at dawn. Mainly older gems full of narrative and melancholy, with a touch of contrast in lighter, pixelated stories that surprise with depth.
