this past halloween i never planned a costume, so i threw on an outfit that i thought an extra would've worn in hackers 1995 lmao. i love that movie for: the costuming; angelina jolie serving throughout; jonny lee miller, matthew lillard, laurence mason, and renoly santiago are all so sexy, the digital aesthetics, plus i live near the area they're in a lot. before that, party monster (the macaulay culkin movie i watched first, then i read the book, and then i watched the original documentary) was my main source of inspiration, and i think i'd still say it's my favorite movie. additional, random mentions that have come to mind and may speak to my character: the handful of john waters movies that i've seen, fight club, but i'm a cheerleader

twin peaks is my favorite tv show for sureeeeee. i love mysterious small towns the real housewives of salt lake city is FIERCE. jen shah's release day (december 10, 2025) was in my calendar. um random nat geo series on youtube?? called drugs inc??? idk its abt the vibes ig sometimes it gets kinda chic lol i comfort watch law & order: svu lmao it's kinda embarrassing. stabler is so fine ew kill me. not me loving the show who's mc taylor swift named her cat after...despite this, i am still swag

Books

how to murder your life by cat marnell: her writing style is so unique and engaging, it feels like she popped a bright capsule pill on your tongue as she did on her own and then began telling you her life story. besides the major addiction struggles, i really relate to her experiences of wanting to be cool and not alone, being into alternative stuff, body issues, and a lot of other stuff too. the audiobook format of the book is just as good, by the way! she narrates it herself, and the cadence is exactly like it sounds in my head.

Heroes

after reading her book, cat marnell made me want to go to school in nyc and become, rather than a beauty editor like herself, some other kind of "media worker," whatever tf that means (like studying media as a hairy fat twink [all positive descriptors] in nyc is vague and cliche enough, i love it though)
