General

My two big hobbies are music and tabletop gaming. With a small side of video games. I used to be a not-so-good bassist in a not-so-good garage band like a decade ago. I still play bass and a little guitar, but I am nowhere near as good as I was in my not-so-good days.

Music

I am a fan of alternative rock, punk and heavy metal. Basically anything not country music, which funny enough my favorite band, The Refreshments, is just shy of country music with their southwest rock sound. Other bands I enjoy are: R.E.M., Oingo Bingo, The Clash, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Matchbox 20, The Ramones, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and Bad Reg lion. I also have a guilty pleasure in some west coast 1990s gangsta rap.

Movies

My favorite movie is Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai. I like how the movie combines so many genres and is shown in such a gritty, yet art house manner. I also like most of the action/adventure blockbusters of the 1980/90s. I also have a soft spot of 1960/70s sci-fi as well as 1990/2000s horror. Some movies worth mentioning are: Logan's Run, Rollerball, Planet of the Apes, In the Mouth of Madness and Event Horizon.

Television

Books

My favorite book is Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance which I think was the book that taught me more about critical thinking than any other. On the lighter side, I enjoy pulp short stories from Doyle, Howard and Lovecraft.
