Avery's Blurbs
About me:
Hi there, I'm Avery (she/her).
I'm an 18 year old artist, writer/poet, and biology student (BSc) living with DID, C-PTSD and BPD. I'm also autistic and chronically ill. I escaped my abusive household on September 1st, 2025, and am dedicated to recovering & sharing my story - part of that is through this page, and part of that is through my Instagram, @may.flowr, where my art is posted. As of right now, my Instagram is private due to personal concerns. I am not accepting follow requests unless you are a close friend. Thank you for understanding.
TL;DR - my blog is for writing, my Instagram is for art. I am so grateful for all of my friends. My heart is full of love. You all make me so happy and have shown me that things can get better.More about me...
I am half-Mexican and half-Italian, but I live in so-called "Canada", Turtle Island. I want to study marine invertebrates, and my end goal is to become a professional researcher and possibly become a professor of marine biology! English is my native language, but I can understand Spanish and am actively learning Japanese. What's my blog for?
My blog is a space for me and my selves to write about what our life is like on the other side of severe childhood & adolescent trauma, while we try to complete a bachelor's degree at the same time. Some of it may be a bit heavy, while some may be simple ramblings about what's currently going on in my life.Appropriate trigger warnings, if they are applicable, will be clearly posted at the top of each blog post - so if you're not in a place where you can hear about certain topics, you can exit out of that entry. I won't be offended if you don't want to or can't read it.
If you would like to leave comments, you are free to do so - just please keep them respectful and free of unsolicited advice or intrusive questions.FAQ
Are you one person or multiple people? How many people are writing on this blog?
There is only one physical body who writes on this blog. Inside of my mind, there are multiple parts of me, who I call my selves (you may hear them referred to as 'alters' or 'headmates'), as a result of the severe trauma I experienced when I was a very young child. We all have our own names, ages, identities, memories, experiences, and ways of thinking, and we will sign off as such in blog posts. If you want to learn more about Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID), I can direct you to some helpful sources. Are you diagnosed?
I was professionally diagnosed with DID and C-PTSD in 2021, but even if I wasn't, my story still deserves to be heard. I'm choosing to share that bit of information, but I didn't have to and I don't owe you my medical history :-)How often will you post?
I do not have a set schedule, but I will try to post at least once a week. However, please keep in mind that I am a full-time college student who is trying to get a degree in the sciences, which is very academically intensive!Who made your layout?
I did, and it's custom coded. I'm not sharing the source code for it because it's mine. Can I be your friend?
Yeah, of course! I love talking to people and appreciate messages and comments. Just know that because of my life experiences, I may not trust you at first. Thank you for understanding.Who I'd like to meet:
Anyone who is willing to listen to my story & appreciates art. I would love to make friends and talk to you <3
