KawaiiPunkKai's Interests

General

Oh god, there's so much lol. Anime, books, video games, music of all kinds. Really I like a little of just about everything. I think the world is full of really cool and wonderful things and I want to learn about them all! I think my favorite genres of just about anything are horror/mystery/suspense, although I do really love action-y stuff too. LIGHTNING ROUND, AKA stuff you can learn about me by reading my responses to the below categories of interests (Music, Movies, Television, etc.), but if you don't want to read all of that rambling, here's a condensed version. Music: A little bit of everything. Jazz, Swing, Classic Rock, Punk, Folk. Notable musicians I like are Bridge City Sinners, The Offspring, Rage Against the Machine, and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. Movies: Clue (1985), Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, The Black Phone, any Scooby-doo movie, an assortment of odd japanese movies my mom discovered in a japanese film class she took a little while ago, Glass Onion, and basically anything mystery/horror/comedy. TV: Lackadaisy, Helluva Boss, Hazin Hotel, Alien Stage, The Amazing Digital Circus. Hannibal, Supernatural, White Collar, Voltron, Criminal Minds (sometimes lol), Scott Pilgrim animated show, and SEVERAL different anime shows. Games: The Danganronpa series. The Persona series. Liar Liar, Assassin's Creed II, Killer Frequency, Skyrim (still working on that one though), The Forgotten City (which actually used to be a Skyrim mod and then got turned into its own game), Wobbledogs, Until Dawn, The Quarry, Wizards101 (when i was a kid, i wish it wasn't subscription-based now), Vampire: The Masquerade (haven't played much of the video games tbh, i just like the ttrpg mostly), The Painscreek Killings, Hogwarts Legacy, Baldur's Gate 3 (still working on that one too). Books: Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, No Exit by Taylor Adams, The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri (obviously lol). Okay, Lighting Round complete!! Thank you for reading! If I've sufficiently intrigued you and you want more details on my thoughts about these things and such, read the rest of my 'interests' section and feel free to message me! :D

Music

I think jazz is my favorite genre, followed by just about every type of rock music in existence lmaooo. I also love the really techy-sounding stuff though. Honestly, I'm the type of person who likes so many things that I could never really pick out what I like more than all the others, does that make sense? Oh! I just went to see a Bridge City Sinners show a little while ago! Their music is awesome! I also just started getting into Dead on a Sunday.

Movies

Ignore what I said in the 'Music' section; Clue (1985) is my favorite movie of ALL TIME!! It's hysterical. I can't believe it bombed the box office so hard. I also like Bullet Train, The Black Phone, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Death Becomes Her, Searching, anything Scooby-Doo lol, the Babysitter movies, Office Space, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Her Love Boils Bathwater (japanese movie), Fish Story (japanese movie), One Cut of the Dead (japanese movie), the first Mission: Impossible movie, Knives Out, Glass Onion (can't wait for the next on of those films), the Fear Street trilogy (NOT killer queen oh my god that one was terrible), Fable (japanese movies). I'm sure there's more but those are all the first ones that come to mind.

Television

Just watched Countdown (2025) and LOVED it. Super fun show, with a lot of action and suspense. I also adore Supernatural. I watched the whole thing for the first time with my mom a few years ago, and we had so much fun with it. White Collar is really cool too. Loved Voltron when I was younger. The animated Scott Pilgrim show was really fun too. OH and I absolutely loved Hannibal. It was so insane and weird, I had a ton of fun watching it. I also have the cookbook now lmao (although I promise to keep everything above board in that regard). I like indie animation as well. Shows like Lackadaisy (LOVE that one, i have the actual comic books too), The Amazing Digital Circus, Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss (are they still considered indie after they've been picked up by Prime?). I LOVE Alien Stage with my whole heart. I'm so invested in that series you have no idea. I bought the whole soundtrack. That's dedication, for me. Anime: Naruto, Hunter x Hunter, FairyTail, Given, Noragami, Sk8: The Infinity, Assassination Classroom, Soul Eater, The Disastrous Life of Saiki K., Bungou Stray Dogs, Terror in Resonance, Classroom of the Elite (although I watched it before the 2nd season came out and haven't caught up with it yet), Hyouka, This Art Club Has A Problem!, Love Chunibyou & Other Delusions, My Hero Academia, Ghost Hunt, The Devil is a Part-Timer!, Toilet-Bound Hanako-kun, Black Butler, Demon Slayer, The Promised Neverland, High-Rise Invasion. Yeah. I had to look at the list I keep of the ones I liked and didn't like, but those are all the anime shows I can think of that I enjoyed lol. I also like games like the ones in the Danganronpa and Persona series'. Actually, speaking of video games, I think I used to enjoy that indie game Liar Liar a lot. I saw people cosplaying the characters from it and then went and played it. Fun. OH, and I LOVE Assassin's Creed II oh my gosh, it's awesome. So much fun, even the annoying parts. Killer Frequency is a great game that I also love. So is The Forgotten City. Wobbledogs is fun. Oh, I'm really enjoying both Skyrim and Baldur's Gate 3 right now. Haven't finished either of them, in fact, I think I'm still pretty close to the beginning. I'm excited to see where they go. I LOVED Wizards101 when I was a kid; I used to play it with my dad all the time. It's kind of a dead game now, they made so many changes it's not much fun to play anymore. I tried to go back and play recently and just completely gave up when I saw that you have to buy a subscription for it now. Ridiculous. I love Until Dawn and The Quarry with my whole heart. I actually played The Quarry with my family the week it first came out and oh my goodness it was so much fun!! I love playing horror games with the whole family, it's the best.

Books

Okay let's get the modern children's classics out of the way. Percy Jackson and Harry Potter. Love 'em. I used to really love this book as a kid called Flora & Ulysses. It was about a girl and a squirrel with superpowers, I think (it's been so long). Haven't finished it yet, but I started reading this book called The Black Hunger recently. It's pretty interesting so far. I absolutely LOVE No Exit by Taylor Adams. I haven't started it yet, but I picked up a book a little while ago called 'Murder Your Employer' that looks really funny, so I'm excited to read that as well. I've been on and off reading through The Divine Comedy, but I struggle to do any one thing for too long, so it's pretty slow-going.

Heroes

My mom, for one. I'd have to actually sit down and think to come up with other, more detailed answers. I'll do that later.

About me:

Hey, I'm Kai! Uh, let's see... Currently, I work full-time, but I'll be going back to school soon to get my bachelor's degree (i took a gap year to get some experience). I'm just a total nerd looking at this cool site and wanting to chat with other nerds I guess. Things I'll nerd out about if you let me: - Anime - Video games - The Italian Renaissance - Indie games & animation - Global folklore & mythology - Whatever book I've read recently (although i get distracted easily so it's hard to read books as fast as i did when i was younger). - etc. Thank you for reading! I look forward to chatting with you! ... ... Ankh ... ...

Who I'd like to meet:

People with the same interests as me, I suppose. I don't really have a clear idea in my mind, yet.
