Jesu's Interests
General |
I’m that mix of academic nerd and curious troublemaker: the kind of person who takes apart power structures just to see how they’re built, and then stays up at 3AM thinking about what could be different. I spend a ridiculous amount of time in forums, talking politics with people from everywhere and collectively questioning (and sometimes openly hating) capitalism. I move between history, social sciences, and linguistics like they’re different tabs in my brain, switching from one to another whenever a new idea hits. I underline books, collect theories, and dive into conversations that start with politics and end with language, culture, or whatever else shapes the world around us. My mind lives somewhere between critical analysis, random intellectual curiosity, and the constant feeling that there’s always more to understand. And honestly, that’s exactly how I like it |
Music |
My favorite artists have always been Taylor Swift and Ariana Grande, I’ve been listening to them since I was 10. But honestly, I’m a total genre-hopper. I can enjoy pretty much anything: rock, pop, K-pop, and all the sounds from my country (vallenato, champeta, reggaeton, and a little salsita). Music is music, and if it hits, it hits. |
Movies |
I’m obsessed with 2000s movies Jawbreaker, Bring It On, Mean Girls, Donnie Darko, Clueless, Fight Club, and all those iconic femcel-core films (my absolute favorites). I just love cinema in general, from mainstream classics to alternative films and movies from different countries. Honestly, I’d love to direct my own film someday… even if it’s just for fun. |
Television |
I grew up watching South Park, Daria, and La Familia del Barrio way too young, mostly because I was an unsupervised kid with full access to TV and the internet. They definitely shaped my sense of humor (for better or worse), and I still rewatch them whenever I want something chaotic, sarcastic, or just comfortingly unhinged. |
Books |
I love girlie books, they bring out my soft, sensitive, and vulnerable side in a way nothing else does. But at the same time, I’m obsessed with reading articles about economics, politics, and social theory. I jump from pink-covered novels to heavy texts by Marx, Chomsky, Gramsci, and Engels without a second thought. It’s the perfect balance between emotional storytelling and intellectual chaos, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. |
Heroes |
Gramsci, the kind of thinker who doesn’t just shape opinions, but reshapes the way you look at reality. Not a hero in the cliché sense, but a mind so sharp it became a reference point for everything else. |
