emika's Interests
General |
I love going to cinemas, museums and just talking in general. Im very interested in music, most genres of literature as well as researching theology, primarily buddhism and paganism! Im thinking about studies in psychology, so I tend to psychoanalyse people by accident :,) |
Music |
Currently listening to a lot of songs from the Next to Normal original London cast recording (which is also one of my obsessions right now!!), alongside Glee covers, pinkpantheress, yves, lil hero, and for whenever I feel more emotional, I listen to some laufey, no na, Magdalena bay, Conan Gray and DJO |
Movies |
Favourite movies- The handmaiden (2016), Scott pilgrim VS the world (2010), Heart and souls, the Peanuts movie, It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown (1966) and Dog Day Afternoon |
Television |
My TV show taste is quite basic but Friends has to be THE best sitcom ever, I won't argue about this. I've rewatched it like 10 times, and that's not even an exaggeration cause I've been watching it since I was 8 on a loop. Aside from that, the shows that I've come to enjoy are Derry Girls, Killing Eve, Queer as folk, Shadow and Bone (mostly for the six of crows side story). 8th sense, Shameless, and Atypical. |
Books |
I have an extensive to be read list which I never actually try to read (even though I own almost all the books in it) but recently I've been very interested in the works of Anais Nin and Audre Lorde, on which I did a lot of research for my final exams! I've been reading "In Favour Of the Sensitive Man and other essays" from Anais Nin, as well as "The Black Unicorn" which is a series of poems by Audre Lorde. Im also obsessed with the Six of Crows duology right now; the urge to reread both books is getting stronger and stronger every day. |
Heroes |
The people that stand out to me the most, and that I consider heroic to myself include Anais Nin and Audre Lorde, who alongside women like Mary Quant have re-shaped my view on our world. I also have a special place in my heart for artists like Megan and Lara from Katseye who stand up and choose to freely speak about their queer identities while being in an environment that is riddled with homophobia. Bless those girls, seriously. |
