batista.wav's Interests

General

“Reading books — I’m interested in a variety of topics. I don’t really have a specific preference; I enjoy exploring new things. Listening to music, studying, learning new languages, playing games, among other things…”

Music

“I won’t mention all of them, just the ones I’ve been listening to the most lately. I love Mitski, I think her songs are really deep, and I like depth in things. Lana Del Rey, because her music feels poetic. Imogen Heap, because I find her songs really unique. Michael Jackson, my dad was a huge fan, so I ended up really loving his music too. And, of course, a few other artists as well, from different genres.”

Movies

"The Love Witch — the aesthetic of this movie is gorgeous. I love anything that gives off a vintage vibe. Maurice (1987) — I hate Clive, but the movie is good. Last Night in Soho — once again, I love movies with this kind of vibe. Indian Summer (1972) — this movie is simply perfect. I watched it a couple of weeks ago. L'Eclisse (1962) — I just hope this kind of love stays far away from me, etc..."

Television

"Okay, I admit it’s really hard for me to stay committed to watching a series for a long time, but there are a few that I actually did watch. True Blood — but wait, I seriously, really, really only watched it because of Alexander Skarsgård as Eric. I hate Sookie, and the first season physically hurts me to watch. Alias Grace (2017) — all I have to say is that I hated the ending, but I actually liked the series itself, which is pretty short. Yellowjackets — I like it a lot, that’s pretty much it. The Vampire Diaries — I watched it when I was 15, so it’s definitely my comfort show. Reign (2013) — I got so many spoilers that I lost the motivation to finish it, but I admit I liked it. Outlander — the first season traumatized me, but I kept watching because I liked it a lot, and I have to confess I read some of the books, so I kinda consider myself a fan…."

Books

"It's been a few months since I last read a book, and honestly, I'm looking for something to read to get out of this reading slump. Outlander, here we are again — I think I've already mentioned that I like Outlander. The Selection — this was one of the first books I read out of my own free will, so I both love and hate this book at the same time. The Secret History — I really enjoy books with this kind of vibe, and both the plot and the writing are incredibly captivating. Interview with the Vampire — I'm a huge fan of vampires, and I love how they're portrayed in the book, the series, and the movie. Plus, Lestat is an absolute diva. Jane Eyre — I'm completely obsessed, it's basically my favorite classic. A Room of One’s Own by Virginia Woolf — I read this one last year and honestly regret not having read it sooner."

Heroes

"Sometimes your only hero is yourself."
