The moon looked like it was hiding a secret tonight. I sat by the window with a black rose and wondered if the stars ever get lonely. Maybe darkness isn't empty. Maybe it's just full of things that only appear when everyone else looks away.
I found glitter on my sleeve again. I don't remember putting it there, but it feels like proof that even the darkest things can sparkle. The red lights in my room make everything look like an old vampire movie. I think I belong in one.
Everyone says to show up as yourself, but nobody tells you who you're supposed to be when you're still changing. Tonight, I decided the answer could be whatever I wanted: a little mysterious, a little dramatic, and covered in black lace and red glitter.
