About me:
Hare Krishna! My name is Sukhī, and I am a San Francisco-based, spiritually-focused trans girl trying my best to navigate this turbulent material world while deepening my connection with God!
I am a follower of the Gaudiya-Vaisnava spiritual tradition, more commonly known as Hare Krishna, which has its origins in 16th century Bengal. I started studying and practicing this tradition in high school when I encountered a monk handing out books of spiritual wisdom, and after high school I became a monk myself for 6 years, traveled back and forth between India many times during that period, and then lived in a holy city in India named Vrindavan for a year and a half. Since leaving being a monk and returning to the US, I've been on a quest to try and incorporate what I learned in the monastery into my day-to-day life and to find spiritual nourishment as much as I can!
Work-wise I am currently a barista. I like it, but I would like to find something that's better paying and that ideally would have some spiritual focus to it. Not sure what that might be but I have a firm conviction that Krishna is in control, He is within my heart and the hearts of everyone else, and when the time is right the right opportunity will come. For now I am just trying to use the situation I have for personal and spiritual growth as best as I can!
