General

I love film, I have a few films that are really important to me and I think it’s the medium of art I’m most passionate about. Otherwise, I really like languages and linguistics. I think all of that’s really interesting and when I’ve got the time I like trying to teach myself other languages. I’ve been learning Japanese for around 7 years (mostly in school) and I recently went on a trip to Japan which was absolutely life-changing.

I’m kind of just a nerd in general though if I’m honest. I really like learning new things, so if you’re passionate about something, I’ll probably want to hear about it!

Music

I think shoegaze is very cool, my favourite band is probably Slowdive and I also sometimes listen to My Bloody Valentine (though I know those are like the obvious shoegaze artists and I've been meaning to discover some more niche artists in the genre). Otherwise I like Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, Tame Impala, Mazzy Star, Mitski and Boygenius/Phoebe Bridgers. 

Movies

I love movies very much, they're easily my favourite sort of art. My four favourites are Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, the entire Before trilogy but I like Sunrise the most (though barely I still adore Sunset and Midnight), Sing Street and Her. Some others I like are Dead Poets Society, The Truman Show, The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Cornetto Trilogy (Hot Fuzz is probably my favourite) and Whiplash.

I think film is special to me because it sort of encapsulates many different kinds of art (cinematography, acting, music, writing, etc.), and in doing so I think it's so effective at portraying human experiences.

Television

I like TV almost as much as I like movies. Guess I'm basic for this pick but my favourite is easily Breaking Bad, I just love everything about it. I also am a fan of Arcane, Chainsaw Man, Invincible, Better Call Saul, Dexter, Death Note, Stranger Things, Adolescence, Squid Game, Evangelion, and You.

In terms of my watchlist, I've been meaning to watch The Walking Dead, and I also want to watch House MD, Hannibal, Brooklyn Nine Nine, The Office, Bojack Horseman, Game of Thrones, The Sopranos, Twin Peaks.

Books

I honestly don't read all too much but I've been trying to do more of it recently. I read No Longer Human a little while ago and and thought that was great. Some others that I've read and enjoyed are Animal Farm, 1984, Boy Swallows Universe, The Green Mile and the Hunger Games series.

As for manga, I’m about halfway through Chainsaw Man right now and I’m really enjoying it, and I also want to read through Death Note at some point too.

Heroes

I think it's a bit silly to idolise any real person so I choose Spider-Man (I love the Raimi Trilogy).
