i actually only currently have ONE favorite novel which is unwind by neal shusterman. which is a dystopian novel that takes place in the US where abortion is illegal, but you can have your kid unwound when they are old enough, so this means they are technically not dead, their parts are just used to help others. some of the characters are connor, risa, and lev, they're all to be harvested for parts (unwound). connor is "too difficult" for his parents to control, risa is "not enough to be kept alive", and lev is a tithe, a child conceived and raised to be unwound, it's seen as a good thing and is in the bible. |
