Music

I love to explore genres- doom metal, shoegaze, industrial (rap & expansive), ambient, baroque pop, weird indie stuff, classical, and experimental are some of my faves. I have a lot of favorite artists.... Florence + the Machine, Midwife (and Sister Grotto... and Mariposa bc Madeline is incapable of making bad music), Lingua Ignota/Reverend Kristin Hayter, Mitski, Ethel Cain (all projects), Holy Fawn, Chelsea Wolfe (and Mrs. Piss ofc), Black Dresses, Backxwash, Purity Ring, Vince Staples, Marika Hackman, Run the Jewels, Air Hunger, Kiltro, Kalandra, Diamanda Galas, Nicole Dollanganger, Spellling, Tash Sultana (early era), Uboa, Emma Ruth Rundle, Paris Texas, Hozier, Sevdaliza (early eras), and probably a ton I can't think of off the top of my head lol I LOVE music it keeps me going!!! Literally one of the most important things in my life.

Movies

Some of my faves: Possession, Howl's Moving Castle, Bones and All, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Castle in the Sky, How to Train Your Dragon, The Snake Pit... And some I've watched recently I've really enjoyed: Conclave, Amadeus, Titan A.E., The Fifth Element

Television

Doctor Who, Wolf Hall, Good Omens, Arcane, Rosemary and Thyme (really most PBS mysteries), Our Flag Means Death, the first season of OG Star Trek, Over the Garden Wall, Westworld, The OA (still have not forgiven Netflix for that cancellation)

Some of my all time favorites: The Future is Disabled by Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha (Care Work too), Flowers in the Attic by V.C. Andrews, The Imperial Radch series by Ann Leckie, The Snake Pit by Mary Jane Ward (the movie was based on the book!), The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson, The Ending Fire Trilogy by Saara El-Arifi (haven't read the third yet but the first two oh lord they got me), The Wolf Hall series by Hilary Mantel (also one of my fave shows), These Burning Stars by Bethany Jacobs, The Vanished Birds by Simon Jimenez, Babel by R.F. Kuang, The Teixcalaan duology by Arkady Martine, Sisters of the Vast Black by Lina Rather, and a bunch of others lol I could be here all day listing!!! Right now I'm reading Wool by Hugh Howey and it's killing me in the best way. I try to read every single day (I'm on day 737 of my current streak) and books are a huge part of my life! They keep me from spinning off the sides of my brain on the worst days :p

Heroes

uhm I try not to idolize people just cause like yk we're all human and we're all going to mess up at one point or another. people are people and there's people I look up to but I try to be careful not to put them on a shelf yk?
