General

Language learning is my main non-media consumption related interest; I'm actively learning Japanese and German, I know a little Spanish, and I have future plans to learn at least ASL--though I'll likely pick up other languages while I'm at it.

Outside of that, I absolutely love cooking (and may post some recipes), collecting things, media analysis, and, of course, internet and technology history.

I also love my degree work; my favorite geology topics are the Cambrian Explosion, the forming and breaking apart of Pangea, and the topography of glacial and desert regions.

Music

I primarily listen to 2000s pop music, pop punk, rock, and emo (obviously). My favorite band is They Might Be Giants, though. I also have a playlist of my favorite anime OPs.

Movies

For animated movies, I like Megamind, Mulan, The Lego Movie, Kiki's Delivery Service, The Last Unicorn, and I'm sure I'm forgetting plenty. For live action, I like Little Shop of Horrors, Labyrinth, Legally Blonde, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and one time an English teached showed me The Truman Show and I haven't been the same since, so that too. My favorite movie decade is the 80s, so there's a ton from then that I didn't list.

Games

I play a lot of video games, so if you like one then I've probably heard of it. My favorite franchises are Kingdom Hearts, Mega Man, Sonic, Metal Gear, Crash Bandicoot, Pokemon, Kid Icarus, and I like several Final Fantasy games (9 is my favorite).

My favorite stand-alones are Hypnospace Outlaw, Hi-Fi Rush, Papers, Please, and Chants of Sennaar.

Please keep in mind that this is nowhere near a complete list, and I love a lot of games I didn't list.

Television

I watch a decent amount of anime; my favorites are Code Geass, Welcome to the NHK, Yu-Gi-Oh! (Season 0 and Zexal are my favorites), Cardcaptor Sakura, Trigun, and Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun. I like Western animation too, but I haven't watched much recently. I have a MyAnimeList, which you can see here.

I don't watch much live action TV, but sometimes I'll watch a random episode of a teen drama shows like Glee, Teen Wolf, or Riverdale out of context because I 100% believe that's the ideal way to watch them.

Books

I read a lot of classic lit--most recently I read some Sherlock Holmes short stories--but honestly, I mostly read manga. Right now, I'm actively reading Welcome to Demon School Iruma-kun, Fullmetal Alchemist, Beastars, and Soul Eater.
