moot's Interests

General

1. Browsing obscure forums and finding weird corners of the internet. 2. Video games (especially the ones no one’s heard of). 3. Anime, because sometimes cartoons are better than reality. 4. Hacking the web (nothing serious, just figuring things out). 5. Making new stuff online, whether it’s content or communities. 6. Memes, because they’re the only language that makes sense. 7. Exploring new digital tools and platforms before they’re cool. 8. Being a little too curious for my own good.

Music

1. Anything that doesn’t conform to mainstream radio. 2. Techno, industrial, and experimental electronic music. 3. 8-bit and chiptune (because video game music is life). 4. Punk and post-punk for when I’m feeling rebellious. 5. Stuff that makes you think, or at least makes you feel something. 6. Maybe some classic rock for good measure, but don’t tell anyone.

Movies

1. The Matrix – because it’s about everything I think about, all the time. 2. Fight Club – if you’ve seen it, you get it. 3. Blade Runner – dystopian future, but make it philosophical. 4. A Clockwork Orange – disturbing, but thought-provoking. 5. Donnie Darko – because sometimes life just doesn’t make sense. 6. Requiem for a Dream – it’s dark, but it hits hard.

Television

1. The X-Files – Conspiracy theories and aliens. What’s not to love? 2. Twin Peaks – Weird, surreal, and makes you question everything. 3. Cowboy Bebop – Best anime ever. Space bounty hunters and jazz. 4. The Simpsons – Still good, even when it’s not. 5. Serial Experiments Lain – It’s a weird, techy anime about identity and the internet. 6. Freaks and Geeks – Because everyone’s got a bit of geek in them. 7. South Park – Dark humor, no holds barred.

Books

1. Neuromancer by William Gibson – The book that defined cyberspace before it was a thing. 2. 1984 by George Orwell – Big Brother knows everything, and it’s terrifying. 3. Brave New World by Aldous Huxley – Technology and society gone wrong. 4. The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger – For when you just feel disconnected. 5. Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson – A fast-paced, tech-heavy novel about the future. 6. The Stranger by Albert Camus – Absurdism and the meaning of life. 7. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas by Hunter S. Thompson – Because reality isn’t always what it seems. 8. Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson – A deep dive into code, history, and technology.

Heroes

1. Tim Berners-Lee – For creating the web, duh. 2. Kevin Mitnick – The most famous hacker in history. If you get it, you get it. 3. Linus Torvalds – The mind behind Linux. Open source for the win. 4. Alan Turing – The original computer science hero. 5. Vannevar Bush – Visionary thinker who dreamed up the idea of hypertext. 6. Hideo Kojima – For making video games into art. 7. Shigeru Miyamoto – Because Mario will never not be a hero. 8. The guy who created the first meme – You know who you are. 9. Anyone who made the internet weird – The true trailblazers.

About me:

Just a guy trying to make sense of this weird internet thing. Big fan of video games, anime, and anything that’s a little off the beaten path. If you like random memes, obscure websites, or discussing how to break things on the internet, hit me up. I’m here to make things happen. If you don’t get it, then you probably won’t get it.

Who I'd like to meet:

1. The creators of the weirdest corners of the web. If you’ve made a bizarre, niche site or forum, we’d probably get along. 2. Anyone who has a solid understanding of memes, internet history, or how to break things in fun ways 3. The guys who made The Matrix – that movie’s unreal. 4. People who don’t take everything too seriously and can laugh at the absurdity of the internet.
