House, or any other TV show featuring a chaotic main character. Bungo Stray Dogs, albeit that's an anime. Dexter.

Books

I recommend Fyodor Dostoevsky as an author if you enjoy reading the narrator's yapping session. Read Crime and Punishment if you don't mind pages about how hot Raskolnikov is or what thoughts the drunkards have. Besides that, you also have blabbering classes about the existence of a God in other books by him. Or if you enjoy a chaotic character falling into madness, I recommend The Double. Romantic books are okay, as long as the author knows how to write the tension and chemistry between the characters. I don't appreciate a love story between two characters who sleep together after one date or problematic love interests who act like idiotic douchebags for no reason. Conversations between them should be poetic and slow, to bring the reader in, and to make you fall for them as well. Mystery movies with a soft touch of comedy, in my humble opinion, are generally the best. I like trying to force my mind to find out who the culprit is before the author does. Agatha Christie comes in clutch. Something I don't appreciate in books is unnecessary sex scenes. And I believe this is a universal opinion.
