[ENGL 1301] When it comes to reading and writing , I enjoy them in different ways like for example I love to read about love stories or interesting stories of like news or if there are some readings about athletes or kinesiology , [Reading] I don’t mind reading because reading can be fun it helps me get some new ideas, dive in differently into perspectives, and getting bigger with my knowledge bases . [Writing] on the other hand is a way for me to organize my thoughts and express myself. I enjoy writing when I can I try to connect creatively a topic or contribute my own insight, but I am aware my writing skills can improve a lot better in many areas of writing. |

[you @ UTRGV] [Schedule & Courses] My schedule for school right now is Anthropology 12:30-1:45pm, My Reading/writing is from 2:00-3:15pm, Rhetoric & Composition 3:30-4:45pm and finally my online class U.S. Fed Gov & Pol. [Activities] For example, I’m in a CAMP program and in this program, they help with a lot of things like schoolwork, supplies and many other things that we need. This is where I engage a lot with people I engage with my mentor and my tutor. I have realized the importance of our community’s and the values of learning from others. [Leisure] [Hobbies] What I do on my free time is go to the gym, running, basically exercising I love to workout with my boyfriend because he pushes me so much, he’s like my motivation because he’s always wanting to work out and look good and I’m the exact same way. I also love to shop for myself oh and also my family and boyfriend of course we all like to hang out with each other and keep each other companied we play chalupa Sundays before or during football games with my family or my boyfriends’ family. I try to play soccer when I can because I don’t want to lose my love for soccer, I can’t imagine what I would do without soccer it just gets me in such a good mood. |

About me:
I’m currently majoring in kinesiology and my journey as a student has been an interesting one. I chose this major because I’m passionate about it because I’m the first child in my family going to actual college and going for an actual major and I honestly think its give me a unique opportunity to develop both academically and personally.
Who I'd like to meet:
[Major] Some content for this major would be like the [Human Anatomy and Physiology] this subject explores the structure and function of the human body, muscles, and bones. [Exercise Physiology] This discusses how the body responds and adapts to physical activity. [Assignment types] For this major is [Lab Reports] For example, students might conduct physical tests in places like biomechanics, exercise physiology, or also motor learning and writing detailed lab reports the reports are supposed to include data analysis, finding things on human movement patterns, or the effects of exercise muscle, strength, or endurance or at least that’s what I have to take. [Research Papers] like articles on themes like the impact of physical activity on chronic disease, advances in rehabilitation procedures, or sports science developments us students have to revise, analyze the studies, and draw evidence based on the conclusions we made in the research paper. [Group Projects] We have to collaborate together to develop and evaluate biomechanics of sports movements, or conduct research projects, this group work helps collaboration and the practical applications of kinesiology concepts in teams based environment. [FYC impact] I have realized the importance of our community’s and the values of learning from others. College is teaching me the importance of independence and self-discipline. Managing my own schedule, making decisions about my future, and taking responsibility for my learning are all skills I have developed. Also balancing lectures, assignments, and exams that overwhelm me at times, but I have tried to learn on how to manage my time correctly to stay on top of everything. It’s an exciting but haunting experience at the same time, as I am constantly learning more about myself and what I want to achieve. Each day presents new challenges. But also, opportunities to push myself and grow intellectually. As I’m continuing my journey, I’m focused on building the foundation for my future career and personal goals. [Beliefs] Some different facets that define me as a student are my learning styles, identity, campus engagement. [Identity] Some learning styles affects students differently. For example, I learn better face to face. This is because it’s easier to see then just reading the paper and I can get instant feedback from my professors it helps for real and better clarification of anything that I’m given. [Vision] Having someone explain the material face to face helps me gain a better understanding. Being in the classroom makes me feel more confident in my ability to learn. Another facet that defines me as a student Is my identity. I’m the first to go to college in my immediate family. This motivates me focus and study in order for me to achieve my career goals. The career I’m striving towards also encourages me to continue my education. I want to become a physical therapist to help athletes, and others who will need my help. I believe another facet to my learning is my campus engagement. I am part of a CAMP program that helps me with school work, and mentoring. Showing up to this program means that I’m showing up for myself in working towards my goals.
