About me:
Obsessed with all forms of art, and I really love passionate people. Experiencing other people's passions for the things they love doing is intoxicating. I love animals, especially cephalopods, reptiles, bats, all types of felines, and whatever the ocean has living in it! Computers, nerds, hackers, and open-source hardware is another thing I'm very interested in. If I wasn't dealing with debilitating chronic pain, I would be making my own clothes, producing music again, enjoying making stuff in general, and learning how to code more. I was really into learning how to code using html & css growing up, specifically through just looking at already written code, figuring out what is means, and playing around with it to make it do what I wanted! I learned best this way... It's unfortunate I never was able to graduate high school (for several reasons), and think I would have had a good time in college. I love to learn, but didn't always understand why I had trouble learning in regular school, and hated it so much. It turned out my brain just didn't work the way everyone else's did... I also love to learn, discover things, and even re-discover things that I previously had different views on, and realizing I was wrong. I have a lot of curiosity, and try to understand things as much as I can. Of course we all have blind spots, and parts of us that we don't like, but with the current state of mental health "care" and the manipulation of the entire profession into prescribing dangerous af drugs that not only don't work very often, but can cause irreperable damage to your brain and body, not to mention the lack of any real ability to trust mental health "professionals", and the way people are constantly incarcerated/held against their will just for having depression, SI, and other issues that are almost always situational, I'm not sure how anyone is supposed to work on that stuff. Especially if they don't have money. I think true mental health care is a luxury most people can't afford, and it's criminal. I believe alt./"natural", homeopathic medicine is just as bad, and scammy. It's kind of worse because of the lies that are told about how much better and safer it is. Pretty much all of it is either placebo effect at best, and pseudo-science or snake oil at worst.
Who I'd like to meet:
Passionate people :) Queer people of all varieties other disabled folks, and people with mental health struggles. People who aren't uptight. I also love nerdy, geeky, and "weird" people. People who love to dance, write, direct, paint, act, sing, play instruments or produce music, people who code, hack, or build. Rule breakers, ass shakers, art makers, people who like to sew, or design clothes. People who actually care about what's going on in the world, and aren't judgmental of other people and how they live their lives. Nothing is better than meeting people who feel the way you do about things, and understand the world. It can be interesting to talk to other kinds of people, too, but I love having discussions about all kinds of things that a lot of people don't have the ability to think critically about. I would also like to meet others who have had horrible experiences with health care, and medical bullshit.
