i give up.

when ideas evaporate, when shapes fade and forms lose their integrity, our imagination can create an outlandish setting

i once said if i were to be rich, i'd show signs of if. i've been the happiest i haven't been since i cleared the skies of my mental archives last year, and that id because of him, my fiance.

i thought about you while brushing my teeth,

which is so stupid because

there i was, with toothpaste smearing my shirt

and i was late, the sink was a mess.

but still somehow there you were

like my brain has somehow made a room for you,

in every small, big, ugly, beautiful part of the day.

but i knew how you'd probably laugh or wipe the corner of my mouth with your thumb,

but you'd never tell me to hurry up.

you'd tell me to go when i'd be ready, in my own time.

but you see,

you have made a home in me.

i love these silly thoughts, because they mean so much to me.

so i brush my teeth,

and think about you standing beside me,

tired, and half awake
