Rλlly's Interests

General

Film

Well, anything of the video type really. It's been a passion of mine ever since my formative years. In a way, I always wished to become some sort of entertainer. As mentioned previously, it started with me uploading very mediocre gameplay videos to YouTube. Later on, I remember wanting to become an animator. It started with two planes, before I went on a two year or so bender of learning x,y and z. I reckon I got quite good at it, as over the years I've never really stopped learning about it on and off. It's only in the few last years I drifted towards the more "professional" side of cinema, as in writing, directing, cameraworks, so on and so forth. I do still love putting out videos, however contrary my channel page may say. One thing I do always want in my works, is a reason to be. Not per se some globe changing thesis, but something that both interests me and makes others interested, or doubtful, or some at.

Machines

When I write machines, the term emcompasses many of things, hardware. I do have a preference, indubitably for computers. Do not get me sideways, I absolutely love looking at an engine and understanding what each and every bolts' possesser do in the whole kerfuffle, but it is exactly that last part that makes my brain shed like a maladjusted timing. Computers itch a place in my nogging that so desperately craves hands on tinkering. Now, I won't lie and say that I could build you a motherboard pcb from scrap. But that doesn't stop from trying to learn how to. Something about looking into the entrails of some archaic system and being not only to read the traces but also be capable to know what to do with is just so fascinating to me.

Software

As with the previous category is sort of unemcompassing of what I truly mean. When I write software, I mean everything from kernel-level and below to the very front-end. Now whether that be source code, decompilation of said code, writing of said code, UI design or mkinitpcio, everything about it is interesting. Parroting myself, I'm far from a competent developer, but I do work out my cortex trying to learn C or Rust. I do pass days on end testing legacy software, OS' and over CD-ROM based jigs, just seeing what they do and, I suppose, trying to guess how it all really works.

About me:

⚠︎ HEJ, THIS PAGE IS CURRENTLY UNDERGOING CHANGES, PLEASE IGNORE ANY ODDITIES ⚠︎

> Hej, I'm Rally.

What can I say? A lot really, this is my page. But I also don't want to ramble too much. Who am I kidding, of course I'm going to ramble.

I'm a student, starting uni soon. I'm a software engineer, though a mediocre one at that. I'm an artist, though I never can quite focus on any medium in particular — I guess that fits the nature of art itself. I'm a linguist, though my schedule makes that hard to practice. I'm a nerd, a dweeb, a four eyes if you will, born affected with the illness with no resolve. I'm a human, a being of bone and feeling, of guilt, disgust, relief, collapse, an ever-growing plot with no foreseeable outcome, bref,,

I've got quite a track record with the Internet, I've grown up with it, both as a sibling and a parent. My earliest recorded presence on the net must be around when I was ten or so; I uploaded my first YouTube video, a thirty second clip of me showing my dog to the World, or so was the idea… Looking back at it, I see how much these early days have formatted me, it taught me so much that I still use to this day. For one, my years of love-hate with editing, so so many hours of my fuming at my monitor because x clip wouldn't cut the way I wanted. I don't regret it, it brought me to what I am now, and though my dedication to uploading as been very much sidelined, I do still have the will to make great works. I believe what hold me so much back is a want to create but a fear of sunk cost fallacy. Truly, it is a hurdle that fogs me every waaking day, but there are some moments, thin instances of limelight where I produce something, a sketch, a montage, a program, something more than nothing. And that makes me happy. Of course I do want to do more, of course. But this confirms to me that I have the tools to make something great.
but hey, that's just my two cents.

Who I'd like to meet:

> you, stranger :]
