HI !! I love music and I listen to a lot of different genres, from dsbm, to jazz, to folk and anti-folk and so on. I also really like art; my main mediums are pencil and charcoal, but I do wanna start painting sometime soon. I like to read as well, though I'm picky with books. I have some psychology books, some philosophy, some poetry, though most of my books are stories--with plot and characters and stuff. |
Music |
BIG CarSeatHeadrest fan. It's embarrassing really. A lot of my closet is actually csh merch. I also really love The Microphones, Irish Bilinksy, The Last Whole earth Catalog, Crywank, toe, Fishmans, Feed Me Jack, Mid-Air Thief, Duster, If I Could Kill Myself, Sorry..., Beyond Melancholy, and Psychonaut 4. To name a couple. I really love music. There's no genre that I prefer over any other, but if the singing sounds whiny and there's a guitar in it I'll probably really like it ^.^ |
Movies |
I love films !! I don't honestly know much about screenwriting or cinematography, but I like to think I do when I watch films. I like war films, like All Quiet On The Western Front, Blackhawk Down, Jarhead, and Saving Private Ryan. Something about war really just captures my attention for whatever reason?? And not in a weird way, I swear--I'm no WW2 enthusiast. I like older movies, like late 90's and early-to-late 2000's stuff, but I don't really care about when a movie was made. Stuff like Steel Toes, Trainspotting, Fight Club, and Gummo. I guess in general I like more thoughtful movies? Haha, I always worry I sound really pretentious when I talk about this kinda stuff, I swear I'm not. I don't think so, anyway. |
Television |
I don't really watch much TV shows, but I really like HBO's Hannibal. As well as the books. And The Silence Of The Lambs |
Books |
Good Lord I love books. My favourite book that I've read so far is definitely Baumgartner, by Paul Auster; just an absolutely amazing story and a really great author. I'm gonna read more of his books soon. Currently, I'm reading The Naked And The Dead by Norman Mailer. I love it. At first, I didn't like it at all and I struggled to get through even a couple of pages, but I think that was just because I'd only recently finished Baumgartner, and they both have different writing styles. I picked it up again recently, after finishing my exams, and I really, really liked it; I'm glad I bought it. I've grown to really love how Mailer writes his characters, and how relatable they all are. Really eager to finish it. I've also read a couple Dostoyevsky books. In order, from first to last; White Nights; Notes From Underground: Crime and Punishment; The house of the Dead. White Nights may be my favourite. I plan to read more. I've also read Nabokov's Despair, and I tried to read Pale Fire but it was too difficult for me at the time, so I didn't get to finish it. |
