General

ROBOTS. robot-centric scifi, especially anything similar enough to asimov's robot stories. i truly believe that is the peak of robot fiction and i have extremely picky tastes in all else.

old tech, especially 70s-90s computers. 60s/70s design aesthetics and Y2K futurism [which go hand-in-hand, as a lot of Y2K design takes heavy inspiration in 70s nostalgia]. blobjects

animation as a medium, including anime....my favorite western cartoon is wander over yonder, my favorite anime is tezuka's metropolis 2001

i also do music as a hobby, but i'm not very good at it yet....i have a first-gen microKORG, i'm currently trying to teach myself FLstudio, and work with miss kasane teto in synthV. i also really just like organizing themed playlists on spotify, DJing is fun.

recently i started learning how to mix drinks. i don't drink alcohol, so it's just mocktails and coffee for now, but damn is it tasty. i wouldn't mind being the guy that mixes drinks for all his alcoholic friends, but i'd have to get my license before i can become anyone's designated driver.

Music

any kind of 90s techno. my most most favorite genres are gabber, trance, acid, etc. i'm also really into 90s R&B these days. my favorite VOCALOID producers are mitchie M and utsu-P.

other misc artists i really like lately are DJ technorch, S3RL, ayumi hamasaki, utada hikaru, linkin park, nine inch nails, spongebob squarewave, the megas, etc etc. i always find it really hard to just narrow it down to a couple favorite musicians....

i really will listen to pretty much anything. there are very few exceptions to music i don't like. my least favorite genre might be 2010s EDM or like, whiny indie guy with guitar. anything else is fair game; disco, country, rap, DNB, jazz, fuckin polka, so on and so forth. any genre has the potential to be good

Movies

i pretty much just watch sci-fi, horror, and anything animated, but i honestly think most scifi movies suck, especially with a hollywood budget because they try too hard to appeal to the lowest common denominator action movie demographic. when they start making star trek subdued and introspective again, i'll consider watching the new shit

in any case, i'm the kinda guy who always forgets what movies i like, so i started making a list. the first two are my top favorites, everything else is in no particular order

Television

do i look like i remember what TV shows i like watching the instant i am not actively staring at a screen playing it. i do like wander over yonder and mob psycho 100 though. and a shitton of others that escape me right now

Books

asimov's complete robot collection. it is FANTASTIC. i have to read robotic dreams next. i also really like ariga's megaman megamix/gigamix manga, but i'm not the biggest fan of his interpretations of the robot masters. they're all kinda same-y.
