General

I grew up a reader so books are always a go for me. That has lead me down several rabbit holes including creative writing and playing way too many RPGs.

I also like making things, so I have a deep interest in and love for painting, drawing, sculpting, knitting, and embroidery. In that same vein, I like learning and being self-sufficient so gardening, cooking, baking, sewing, and teaching myself different languages are also a vibe.

I don’t know how to be normal about many things and as a result have too many passionate opinions on social issues, horror, and superhero media.

Music

Like many old-school emos, I haven’t been able to let go of what I grew up listening to, so I will be blasting Black Veil Brides, Bring Me the Horizon, My Chemical Romance, and Pierce the Veil until the day I die. Even with all the teenage angst, black clothes and eyeliner, I still managed to multiclass into “pop punk girlie” so Paramore, Marianas Trench, All Time Low, and Fall Out Boy were and still are staples.

That being said, I have branched out a little and now also listen to Beartooth, Stand Atlantic, Green Day, Pale Waves, and Sleep Token.

Movies

People will have to rip my comfort horror movies out of my cold dead hands. These include Scream, Hellraiser, My Soul to Take, You’re Next, Cabin in the Woods, Fright Night, Tremors, and It: Chapter One.

I’m also a sucker for Studio Ghibli and my favorite is a tie between Spirited Away and The Cat Returns.

Other classics for me are The Frighteners, Odd Thomas, Zombieland, Lethal Weapon, Mulan, Labyrinth, Bill and Ted’s, and Lord of the Rings.

Television

My all time favorite show is MacGyver (1985) and honestly it has become my whole personality.

My top binge-watching choices are Adventure Time, Gravity Falls, Criminal Minds, Ash vs Evil Dead, Hunter x Hunter, and My Hero Academia.

The Good Place, Santa Clarita Diet, Elementary, Tale of the Nine Tailed, It’s Okay to Not be Okay, and Extaordinary Attorney Woo are favorites but my attention span sucks so I only ever really watch one episode of these at a time.

Ouran High School Host Club is the only series I’ve ever finished besides MacGyver and instead of getting caught up on my other shows I’ll watch this instead.

Books

The series I keep coming back to year after year are The Abarat and Daughter of Smoke and Bone and I will sing their praises forever.

I’ve really been into slasher fiction and gay romances lately and I will expire if anyone ever writes a combination of the two.

Heroes

I really wish I could have met Robin Williams or bell hooks. Also, have y’all heard of Josephine Baker? What an icon.
