Light Yagami (夜神月, Yagami Raito) is the main protagonist of the Death Note series. After discovering the Death Note, he decides to use it to rid the world of criminals. His killings are eventually labelled by the people living in Japan as the work of "Kira."

He is an enigmatic, mysterious, and highly-esteemed international consulting detective whose true identity and background is kept a secret.

Misa Amane is a fictional character in the manga series Death Note, created by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata. A famous model, Misa seeks out Kira as she supports his cause to "cleanse the world of evil".

Television

Matt (マット, Matto) is Mello's friend who lends him aid on the Kira case. Like Mello and Near, and earlier, L, Matt was raised at Wammy's House—Watari's orphanage for gifted children in Winchester, England.

Nate River (ニア Nia), better known as Near, is the main antagonist of the second half of the anime and manga series Death Note. He is the youngest of L's two successors, raised in Watari's orphanage for gifted children (Wammy's House), as well as one of the main characters from Death Note.
