gridbug's Interests

General

Books, coffee (pour over, espresso, all the hits!), philosophy, history, religion (I'm an atheist but not in a "boo religion is dumb" way I just don't personally believe in any religion, but still find learning about religious traditions and their history fascinating), learning and . I'm technologically challenged, or at least I am not as into computers as I was when I was younger[1], I don't have time for it ;m; [1] I say this as if I'm an old soul I'm 22, I just was more into tech stuff when I had more time to goof around, I hope I can get back that time soon : )

Music

The Cure, Nine Inch Nails, Fugazi, The Fall, Sisters of Mercy, Bauhaus, Ministry, Christian Death, Siouxsie & the Banshees, Joy Division, New Order, Cocteau Twins, Chelsea Wolf, Coil, Killing Joke, Skinny Puppy, Pere Ubu, Behemoth, Gevurah, Bathory, Batushka, Depeche Mode, Bad Brains, Big Black, Swans, Dirty Rotten Imbeciles, Emperor, ESG, The Misfits, Suicide, Tim Hecker, Prurient, Pharmakon, Nick Cave, Reagan Youth, Suicidal Tendencies

Movies

There are so many movies I want to see but haven't, but I've enjoyed stuff from all over the place. Sergei Eisenstein's Ivan the Terrible is my favorite movie, or Andrei Rublev, it's a tie between those two. But there are so many great movies I have not seen, which I will need to fix. I just recently finally got around to seeing Grand Illusion and it was amazing.

Television

Books

Love Marcel Proust, the Brontes, Tolstoy, Flaubert, Pynchon, I haven't picked up Mason and Dixon in a while I still need to finish that : ( but V was really good, and Gravity's Rainbow, even though I had no idea what was going on most of the time ;o; I've been reading more poetry lately, in particular Walt Whitman, Wallace Stevens, Hart Crane, Rita Dove, Dionne Brand, C.D. Wright. Also a big fan of John Keats and the British Romantics, but especially Keats (and William Blake).

About me:

Hello there! I'm going by Gridbug, pronouns she/they. I was a bit too young to experience the golden age of web 1.0, I was online at the very tail end of it, and got a front row seat as the websites I loved to click around on and use were infested with ads and became unusable, or were shut down. So I'm hoping to get to experience that fun for the first time, since I wasn't very active on any social media or other platforms back in the day.

Who I'd like to meet:

I'd like to meet the person reading this : D
