Tom Miller's Interests

General

Love gaming, finally put together my own system in October 2020 and my old Xbox One has been gathering dust ever since. Love Mirror's Edge, FarCry, Life is Strange, Elite Dangerous and others (cos this'd be a long fucking list).

Music

This is the part I always dread because I wish I could put everything in here but when I say I listen to everything except gospel, I mean it. I don't have a favourite genre but my favourite song is Predictable by Good Charlotte. This is the only place I'll ever publicly say that because I honestly believe no one will ever see it!

My music collection has a massive range from jazz to hip-hop to rap to rock to metal to pop to punk to techno to dubstep and also drum & bass and everything in between (except gospel, I fucking hate gospel with a burning passion). I also love classical.

Movies

Christ if you though the music section was bad get ready for a cinemasins worthy write-up.

I don't have a favourite film, Matrix Trilogy was amazing but I also love Star Wars. Stealth (2005) I've always watched but it's not a favourite of mine.

I Hope They Serve Beer in Hell was definitely a film I adored, mainly because of Tucker and Drew's friendship.

I love rom-coms, loved the Holidate and Ghosts of Girlfriends Past.

Love action films, even though I'm starting to slowly move away from them, still watch Kingsman from time to time just for that church scene though.

Television

Operation Proposal (Kdrama) is easily the best thing I've ever seen, no other show I've watched has managed to truly understand how to make the watcher feel the emotions conveyed on screen so perfectly, at the beginning you get a real sense for the despair Baek-Ho has after he sees the woman he's always loved marrying someone else instead (that had a personal effect on me as well). Then you have his friends who all have these hopes and dreams but none of them ever come true. He gets a chance to do everything again thanks to the conductor of time who was a brilliant character who you only see once per episode but he's fantastic. Then you have my favourite character Jin-Joo who is so extremely withdrawn and works in her Uncle's restaurant and never says a word for most of the show, somehow she always knows exactly what Chan-Wook wants before he even has a chance to ask. Basically, give this show a watch because it is easily the most beautiful show I've ever seen and the final 3 episodes will emotionally fuck you up but I promise it won't disappoint.

I'm still trying to finish Flash on Netflix and also SG-1 at the moment.

Books

I haven't read anything in years, the last book I read was probably Harry Potter, I did once read Hitchhikers Guide to The Galaxy but that was a very short book. As a kid I read a lot but as an adult I lost the passion for reading and the only stuff I read is online nowadays.

I vaguely recall reading Steve Jobs autobiography.

I keep meaning to read Moby Dick but that's probably just a lie I keep telling myself at this point.

Heroes

Oh fuck, I can't believe they added this one. Heroes... bleurgh...

Stan Lee, he taught me not to give up just because someone tells you your idea isn't worth your time or effort because no one else will like it.

Sly Stallone, he wrote the script to Rocky and desperately tried to get it made into a film but companies constantly refused until one said they'd take it but they wouldn't have him playing Rocky. He countered their offer and proposed they pay him commission instead but he has to be the one to play Rocky. Perseverance is key in life.

About me:

Have some music while you're here

Laid back, easy going gamer and film watcher. Yes I swear a lot but you'll just have to get used to that, my language isn't pretty but neither are you.

Mainly here because I miss having music on my profile and the customisation!

Who I'd like to meet:

Ooh a tough question you ask hmm? perhaps I'd like to meet my maker...

That was weird, I'd love to meet someone I can actually talk to about pretty much anything, people don't really talk about their feelings all that much these days and everyone just assumes everyone's okay unless they say otherwise but the truth is none of us are okay and people need to talk about that.

I'd love to meet myself from 2002, I'd genuinely love to know if he'd be happy with where we ended up. I'd love to go for drinks with pirates, I genuinely think that'd be a right laugh.
