Susan's Interests

General

Mornings can be hectic, but I always make time for my favorite ritual: brewing a fresh cup of coffee and settling in with a good read. Whether it's a new bestseller or an old favorite, I love getting lost in the pages and escaping into a different world for a little while. Of course, some mornings are busier than others, and I don't always have time to enjoy my coffee and read for as long as I'd like. But even if I only have a few minutes to spare, I always make sure to savor every sip and every page. When I do have a bit more time, I like to switch up my reading material and explore different genres and authors. There's always something new to discover, and I love the feeling of stumbling upon a hidden gem. So whether I'm rushing out the door or enjoying a lazy Sunday morning, my coffee and my book are two things I always make time for. And who knows? Maybe the next great read is waiting for me just around the corner.

Music

I've gone through quite the musical evolution over the years. Back in the day, I used to be a die-hard fan of 80's emo music. The angst and raw emotion of bands like The Smiths, The Cure, and Joy Division spoke to me in a way that nothing else could. I loved the dark, brooding lyrics and the moody melodies that seemed to capture the essence of teenage angst. However, as I got older, my musical tastes started to shift. I discovered the upbeat, catchy pop music of the 2000s, and I was hooked. From Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera to N'Sync and Backstreet Boys, I couldn't get enough of those infectious pop hooks and danceable beats. At first, it was a bit of a shock to my system to move away from the moody, introspective sound of 80's emo. But as I listened more and more to pop music, I found that it had its own unique emotional resonance. Whether it was a song about heartbreak or a catchy tune about living your best life, pop music had a way of lifting my mood and making me feel energized. Nowadays, I'm a proud pop music aficionado, but I still have a soft spot for those 80's emo classics. Every once in a while, I'll put on an old Smiths album or a Joy Division track and reminisce about my teenage years. But for the most part, you'll find me grooving to the latest pop hits, singing along at the top of my lungs and enjoying the infectious energy of the music.

Movies

The Notebook is a movie that has truly captured my heart. From the moment I watched it, I fell in love with the heartwarming story, the beautiful cinematography, and the incredible performances of the actors. There's just something about the romance between Noah and Allie that pulls at my heartstrings every time I watch the movie. The way they meet, fall in love, and ultimately overcome obstacles to be together is so captivating and emotional. What I love most about The Notebook is the way it reminds us of the power of true love. The movie shows us that love can be messy and complicated, but it's worth fighting for. The characters of Noah and Allie remind us that when we find someone we truly love, we should hold on to them with everything we have. But The Notebook is more than just a romance movie. It's a story about family, sacrifice, and the power of memory. The way the story is told, with an older Noah and Allie reflecting on their lives together, gives the movie a sense of timelessness and poignancy that few movies can match. All in all, The Notebook is a movie that holds a special place in my heart. It's a movie that I can watch over and over again, and it never fails to make me smile, cry, and feel all the emotions. If you haven't seen it yet, I highly recommend giving it a watch – you won't be disappointed.

About me:

When I'm not busy with work or taking care of my little ones, you can usually find me curled up with a good book. I love losing myself in a great story and getting lost in the characters' lives. Whether it's a romance novel or a thrilling mystery, I'm always up for a good read. In addition to reading, I'm a big fan of 1980's music. I love the catchy tunes and upbeat rhythms that defined the era, and I'm always adding new songs to my playlist. Some of my favorite artists include Madonna, Michael Jackson, and Prince. As a single mom, my family is my top priority, but I also believe in taking time for myself. Reading and listening to music are my two favorite ways to unwind and recharge after a long day. I'm always looking for new book recommendations and songs to add to my playlist, so feel free to drop me a message!
