General

i love music: both making my own music & admiring others' music! i write my own songs, which are available on all music platforms as "cassandra anelante" as of right now! i'm also a writer, & write everything from fiction to nonfiction: songs, poetry, prose, stories, essays, and science/disability journalism. i'm planning on studying science writing when i go back to school, as my experiences with being chronically ill have inspired me to pursue a career in the field. i also combine my love of photography with these other passions, & love to shoot my own record covers/pair my writing pieces with my photos!

Music

i have a pretty diverse music taste, but my favorite genres are alternative rock, indie rock, and folk rock! my main fav bands and artists are glass animals, paramore, foster the people, gorillaz, hayley williams, and mars argo.

Movies

my fav movie is "but i'm a cheerleader" starring natasha lyonne! it's become a comfort film for me for sure, especially as a queer woman! i also generally love 90s-2010s girly movies, like mean girls, clueless and legally blond.

Television

fav shows are maniac, parks and rec, stranger things, the good place, grey's anatomy, bob's burgers, and all of the bachelor shows. one of my biggest comforts in life is getting immersed into a beautifully written and intricately layered series, like the show mania. i also get super sucked into reality tv, and know WAY too much about bachelor nation lore lmaoo

Books

a book that has really stuck with me is "slade house" by david mitchell. i also love "the prophet" by kahlil gibran, and often find myself re-reading emily dickinson's compete poetry collection.

Heroes

Jesus, first and foremost (and NOT the false perception of Jesus that bigoted republican christians use to justify their hatred. i'm talkin the REAL jesus- the revolutionary brown man who loved EVERYONE and flipped tabled over when He got angry at greedy capitalists). i also really look up to dave bayley, mark foster, and hayley williams (she has been my role model my whole life :,) makes me feel emo)
