Movies

uhhhhhh gimmie those punchmans punching shit I'll watch basically every comic book movie because I'm a nerd. Summer action movie season is one of my favorite (pre-covid) times. I only like the cheesiest, dumbest horror movies, and i won't watch a comedy that punches down. Life is too short to watch dramas unless I'm also doing something else at the same time.

Television

basically the same shit over and over. For newer stuff, She-Ra was fucking amazing. A number of the HBO series they've been putting out have been fun, like Lovecraft Country, Mare of Easttown, Watchmen. But my main loves have been the Marvel and Star Wars series. After how terrible Rise of Skywalker was after the amazing set up crafted in Last Jedi, I was pretty much done with star wars, but Mandalorian rekindled my love of that series.

Books

I literally haven't read a real book in decades because I've fallen in love with audio books. I just finished Akata Witch and Akata Warrior by Nnedi Okorafor and I can't wait for her to release the third one. Wheel of Time is one of my favorite series, although while it was good and progressive in 1990, the gender essentialism of the magic system doesn't really come across that great nowadays, so that's something to be aware of. I'm one of the weirdos who actually loved the ending of the Dark Tower.

Heroes

Spider-Man, it's shame we haven't really had a good run in the comics for years and years now. The current run by Spencer is fine, and huge improvement over the Dan Slott issues, but it lacks something I just can't put my finger on. Conversely, the X-Men books are fucking amazing right now. I am going to be super sad when the current status quo ends and things go back to normal.
