Ramon Shiloh's Interests

I'm Funny sometimes. I'm a giver who demands nothing. I've been noted, acknowledged and sought-after without payment. At random, I manage disputes by those frustrated with one another. I'm mixed racially, so it's hard deciding what favorite foods I like. My parents have passed away, so I walk-in a new direction with no parental guidance or blessing. |

Ramon Shiloh's Blurbs
About me:
American author, illustrator, and storyteller Ramon Shiloh was born in Northern California. His mother, June Le Grand, was a broadcaster and Native storyteller who had a great influence on Ramon and his later career. Shiloh has worked with a number of collaborators to produce books and works in other media. Ramon Shiloh authored and illustrated the book Guidance through an Illustrative Alphabet. Ramon Shiloh partnered as an illustrator with author and storyteller Gerald Hausman to produce the award-winning Wisdom Tales book The Otter, the Spotted Frog & the Great Flood which is a mythical story based in America before humans existed on earth, with animal characters and a great flood that ends with the creation of First Man and First Woman in a very surprising way. The book has won three Midwest Book Awards (Gold Medal in the category “Illustration: Graphic,” and Silver Medals in the categories “Children’s Picture Books” and “Total Book Design”) and won the 2013 ForeWord Review “Book of the Year” Bronze Medal Award in the category “Picture Books, Early Reader.” In The Otter, the Spotted Frog & the Great Flood, which Ramon Shiloh illustrated and Gerald Hausman wrote, everything, even the whole wide world, gets very, very wet! Shiloh’s other activities include support for arts programs related to minority issues. For example, his contributions to Native youth projects include serving as a mentor for the “Young Native Voices Theater Education Project” in Los Angeles. He was honored with a certificate of appreciation as a facilitator and storyteller for the Underground Railroad Research Program titled “A Trail of Tears” in 2000. Shiloh has also worked with Rosa Parks. Shiloh has produced and directed planetarium shows for the Minolta Planetarium in Cupertino California, for the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center at Balboa Park in San Diego, and for the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry (OMSI) in Portland, Oregon. He has also worked as the Arts & Culture Editor for ColorsNW and illustrated a monthly comic strip titled “Life without Colors.” Ramon Shiloh became the third person in the history of the Hollywood Improv in Los Angeles to host a merging of comedy and art on the walls titled, “The Art of Comedy Collection.” The project was sponsored by IMPROV founder, Budd Friedman, and Shiloh was interviewed by Dave Navarro on Spread Entertainment, hosted by ManiaTV.com, to celebrate the historic event.
