About me:

The Prey specializes in ethereal house, organic minimal, and astral dub. By evoking vulnerable animals that form tight-knit communities to defend against predators, his moniker serves as a metaphor for collective strength and resilience.

Based in Portland, OR, he is a resident DJ at NoFOMO, an inclusive party with a sound frequently described as “cosmic,” and at Circuit Breaker, a party that celebrates the expression of queer sexuality.

In addition to his focus on the deeper side of contemporary dance music, the Prey indulges his affection for 90s house with marathon all-vinyl sets at biannual event the Gay Nineties.

The Prey’s music has been signed to labels including 2MR, Death by Rainbow, Leonizer Records, and Bottom Forty. His DJ mixes have been featured on Deep South, Acid Camp, ultrawizardsword, and Bottom Forty, among others. And he’s shared DJ bills with the likes of Noncompliant, Keenan Orr, Octo Octa, Outputmessage, MarceauxMarceaux, Chanti Darling, Cay Horiuchi, Massimiliano Pagliara, Prosumer, and Kris Wadsworth.
