General

A word on MySpace: MySpace was huge in the 2000s and predates the plethora of social media platforms we know today, possessing many (if not more) of the same functions such as direct messaging, blog posts, photo albums, HTML layouts and editing for unique profiles, public comments on those profiles, top friends list, hosted music and playlists, etc... all consolidated on a single site. It was a fun, colorful and quirky phenomenon of its time and I genuinely miss it.

Growing up in the 2000s: I grew up with an assortment of the following: Nintendo 64 and Gamecube, PS2, Windows XP, Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, VHS tapes, DVDs, flip phones, red, yellow & white RCA cords, even the occasional floppy disk... middle and high school classmates had kandi beads, scene kid hair, some went to raves (I never partook in any of this lol)... and all of the Harry Potter books, borrowed physically, from my local library!

Music

My parents would often play: Sade, Peter Gabriel, Ana Torroja, Joe Vasconcellos, the Getz/Gilberto album by Stan Getz and João/Astrud Gilberto...

I grew up on: YUI, 宇多田 ヒカル Utada Hikaru, Evanescence, Amy Winehouse, t.A.T.u., and eventually Lady Gaga and Adele as they came on the scene in 2007/8. Loved me some songs by Linkin Park and Three Days Grace as well. I continue to love music by these artists to this day. I grew to adore music by Sade, as my parents do.

Genres: Acoustic, alternative, jazz, R&B, symphonies, folclor chileno, film or video game soundtracks, anything creative and soul-stirring.

Movies

Movies: Everything Everywhere All at Once, Arrival, Contact, Fight Club, Atlantis, Kill Bill, Mean Girls, Salt, Incendies, Her, MCU Movies, Into + Across the Spiderverse.

Video games I love:

• The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, Breath of the Wild, and Tears of the Kingdom. I played a bit of A Link to the Past on GBA but never finished it. My all-time favorite game franchise.

• Mass Effect (favorites in order: 3, 2, 1, Andromeda). I adore this series.

• Insomniac Spider-Man (favorites in order: 1, 2 and Miles Morales)

• Super Mario Bros: My first ever video game was Super Mario 64. I've also played: Super Mario Sunshine, Super Mario Bros 1, 2 & 3, Yoshi's Story, Mario Party 1, 2 & 3, Luigi's Mansion, Mario Kart: Double Dash, New Super Mario Bros U and a bit of Bowser's Fury.

• Pokémon: This one I got into way too late but I've played Pokémon Snap, SoulSilver, X & Y, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, Ultra Moon, Let's Go Eevee and Violet.

• Super Smash Bros: 64, Melee, Brawl, Smash 4 and Ultimate. Melee and Ultimate are my favorites!

• Life is Strange series: 1, Before the Storm, Captain Spirit and 2. Love these games and I'm planning on playing True Colors at some point.

• Telltale Games : The Walking Dead seasons 1, 2, A New Frontier, Michonne; The Wolf Among Us, Tales from the Borderlands, Game of Thrones, Batman 1 and Batman: The Enemy Within. These games were such a captivating and unique experience throughout the 2010s.

Television

American and Japanese animation and video games dominated my childhood. I grew up on Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Lab, Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Dragon Ball Z, Fairly Odd Parents, Jimmy Neutron, 90s Spider-Man, Teen Titans, DCAU shows like Static Shock, Batman, Superman and Justice League, Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go and many more. Entering middle school, this was followed by the slew of wacky, silly American reality TV shows like America's Next Top Model, Flavor of Love, I Love Money and Bad Girls Club (S2)...

Shows I love in general: Black Mirror, DARK, The Expanse, House of the Dragon, Fringe, Altered Carbon, The Boys, El Ministerio del Tiempo, Stranger Things, Yellowjackets, Wandavision, Loki, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Legend of Korra, Attack on Titan, Death Note, Demon Slayer, Fullmetal Alchemist, Arcane, Cyberpunk 2077, Love Death + Robots. Books

Literature:

Harry Potter series, The Rise of Kyoshi and The Shadow of Kyoshi, My Sister's Keeper, Nineteen Minutes. I would be interested in reading more about different religions and mythologies but have always been too lazy to do so.

American comics: Y: The Last Man by Brian K Vaughan, George Pérez run of Wonder Woman. Aso enjoyed the Fantastic Four: Season One (2012) one-shot by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa. Slowly reading Absolute Wonder Woman and Absolute Batman as well.

Marvel-wise, I am curious to read more F4, X-Men, and Daredevil someday... as well as explore Star Wars comics. For DC, would love to read Watchmen, V for Vendetta, Books of Magic, Midnighter/Apollo, Zatanna and The Question. For Image comics, curious to read Saga, Radiant Black and maybe Monstress, East of West or The Department of Truth.

Japanese manga: Haven't read any in years, but as a kid and teenager I read some 666 Satan, Naruto, Bleach and some D.Gray-Man as well.
