Chie SatonakaJapanese: 里中 千枝 First appearance: Onsen Nozokimi Daisakusen (2008) Chie Satonaka is a fictional character from the 2008 video game Persona 4. She appears as a high school student who starts investigating a dimension labeled as the TV World alongside her friends. The kidnapping of her best friend Yukiko Amagi leads Chie to join the Investigation Team to solve a murder case where victims are sent to the TV World and killed by creatures known as Shadows. She has also appeared in Persona 4 Arena, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, and Persona 4: Dancing All Night. Critics praised her for her mix of fighting spirit and femininity, though opinions on her English voice acting varied. Her two Personae, Tomoe and Suzuka Gogoen were based on Japanese mythology. Although these two are major figures in myths, they were chosen for Chie as they are one of the strongest women. Chie's personal tastes were incorporated into the two Persoane, resulting in a "macho" feeling whereas Tomoe is based on Bruce Lee's design from a movie Chie favorites. They also wear helmets due to the rule that every Personae should wear protective items. This was inspired also by Soejima's fascination with motorcycles helmets. Once Tomoe evolves into Gogoen, her helmet changes from a standard street bike helmet to an off-road bike helmet in order to emphasize thoroughness.[3] |

My name will stay unknown, but you can call me Mii (like the Miis indeed) or Chie, or "that-one-girl-with-the-back-posture-of-a-snail-shell", I am 18 years old, and I am European (try to guess the country, it's VERY well known, especially from its tower and dishes...). I am a first-year college student in Interpretation & Traduction, and currently trying to learn new languages, fixing common mistakes in both my native language and English, as well as fully learning languages I've known for half a decade... Spanish and Japanese, but I do try to speak and learn more, like Mandarin and also Algerian. I am bilingual in English. My hobbies are studying, sleeping (if that is considered a hobby), but also walking and listening to music. My favorite music artists depend on the categories and genres, but overall, my favorites are Bruno Mars, Steve Lacy, Kali Uchis, Starship Orchestra & NewJeans (I do also listen to Girls' Generation, Illit, T-ARA, Kiss Of Life, and also Pomodora... but talking about my favorite artists would take more time than it should. I like to draw and doodle (you can guess by the profile too), as long as I'm having fun and enjoying it all, it will be more than fine! Yes, I do have private shrines (also counts as favorite piece of medias in general since they are almost all from my favorite mangas/anime, some even already a part of my growing figurine collection) where I develop the series and characters I really like (from both lore and characteristics) that I rarely share, like CardCaptor Sakura, Akira, Death Note, K-On!, City Hunter 2, Yotsuba&, One Piece, OHSHC, SwapDoodles/SwapNotes, Animal Crossing, Lucky Stars, and many more (whole series), but also Ryuji Sakamoto, Yu Narukami, Dojima, Ren Amamiya/Akira Kurusu/Joker, Yotsuba, Danbo, Madoka Kaname, etc (character). In terms of figurines (figs), I personally mostly own all the main girls from Sailor Moon, K-on!, PMMM, but also Hatsune Miku and Rei (Evangelion). I might share both photos of my collections and also my wishlists soon, if I haven't already done so at this point in time.

I do love tons of games, like Animal Crossing New Leaf; Yokai Watch!; Tomodachi Life; StyleSavvy (1 to 3 on 3ds); Nintendogs + Cats; and way more... BUT I do adore a particular series, Persona! I've been a huge Persona fan for ages (my favorite is Persona 4, but I like all of them equally), besides, I've been even more obsessed with Persona games ever since Atlus released Persona 5, which had a huge impact on me. But aside from video games and social media, I like to watch documentaries and learn about new subjects, as well as playing crosswords, sudoku, and Wordle (+ jogging but only when I've got time to spare).

I mostly draw on CSP (Both tablets are Wacom INTUOS and GAOMON M10K) but, since I'm moving quite a lot from home to college, i can't really bother touching or drawing on them right now... so, I draw on my 3DS when I'm by train or metro. I actually missed drawing on it, even if i don't have any storage to save them (old me LOVED drawing doodles and editing pictures) the other issue related to that is my actual laptop, as i do not have any SD adapters to connect to it and save my files... SO I figured that it was part of the process and that I'd be better off not saving and practice than otherwise, it forces me to really not attach to my art, resulting in less time judging it. Besides, I already do that pictures of some of them (mostly when i have time), you can check them out bellow if you want to quickly stare at it, it is made for that after all! Now, I will probably not post my arts others than the quick tiny ones you can see right bellow this text, as, like said previously, I struggle to manage creativity+busy schedules.

Honestly, I do think about using SpaceHey for blogging, but I am not fully certain of it. Another thing to take into mind is that I may not be connected often or even at all for work, studies, but also because I do not really stick to any social media fully, it's more of a seasonal activity than anything... although I'll try if anyone does feel interested in me posting regularly, blogs to bulletins, or even for a quick doodle/chess games (do not expect a professional level athlete from me though, my tactics are way too weak lol).

It's actually quite simple but uhh.. I don't have time (unfortunately) to start new & long distance discussions, also because I'm not really a talkative person on social media. Now, I think it's absolutely cool to make bulletins, vlogs, blogs, or even being able to send messages here, but do not be surprise if I quite don't answer back, I am interested but simply quite busy, and need a little time for me when out of work space (and also because I am not really good at conversations by msgs so.. serves me as a weak excuse to not answer lmfao). Plus, the only soul reason why messaging is the only DNI rule is because I am fine with everything else, SpaceHey (aka MySpace) is made for that, interactions... and I like to code and discover niche communities ! So feel free to comment here or post bulletins, I MIGHT read them and answer (.. might.)

千枝とシャドウ千枝の目立った違いのひとつは、瞳の色に見られる。 通常の千枝の瞳は落ち着いた茶色だが、シャドウ千枝の瞳は暗闇の中で光る半透明の黄色をしている。 しかし、この違い以外に――見た目や意味の上で、本当に異なるものは何だろうか。『ペルソナ４』では、登場人物それぞれがテレビの世界を通して、自分の中に抑え込んだ感情や欲望と向き合う物語が描かれているその中でも里中千枝が自らのシャドウと対峙する。場面は、物語の初期に登場する重要なエピソードであり、自己受容が成長へとつながるという作品全体のテーマを象徴している。千枝とシャドウ千枝の対比は、彼女の不安、嫉妬、依存心を浮き彫りにし、最終的には本当の自信と自立へと導く。 物語的な深みを除けば、千枝とそのシャドウは外見的にはほとんど同じであり、異なるのは瞳と態度だけである
One main difference visible from Chie and Chie's shadow can be observed in the eye color, as her main eye color varies from normal brown to translucent yellow that glows in dark places, but aside from this fact... what else is really different both visibly and by meaning? In Persona 4, each character’s journey through the TV World reflects their struggle with their suppressed emotions and hidden desires. Among these, Chie Satonaka’s confrontation with her Shadow is one of the earliest and most thematically important examples, establishing the tone for how self-acceptance shapes growth. The contrast between Chie and her Shadow encapsulates her insecurity, jealousy, and dependency, ultimately leading her toward genuine self-confidence and independence. Aside from the depth of it all, Chie and her shadow are nearly identical when it comes to physical appearance, except for her eye and attitude.

『ペルソナ４』のキャラクターたちはみんな、自分の“影”と向き合うことで成長していく。
それは決して弱さなんかじゃなくて……本当の自分に近づくための、最初の一歩なんだと思う。
I think the difference between Chie Satonaka and Shadow Chie shows the contrast between “the self we believe we are” and “the emotions we keep hidden deep inside.”
Behind Chie’s bright and energetic smile, there’s actually a lot of jealousy and dependency… and that’s what her Shadow reflects back at her.
Her Shadow exaggerates those weaknesses, turning them into something almost monstrous — but by accepting that part of herself, Chie changes from someone who seeks approval from others into someone who finds real strength through understanding herself.
All the characters in Persona 4 grow by facing their own “shadows.”
It’s never a sign of weakness… it’s the very first step toward becoming who they truly are.

あ、そういえばね……ずっと思ってたことがあるんだ。 もし千枝がほかのゲームにも登場できたら、どんなキャラになるんだろうって。 その中でも、ポケモンの世界にいたらどうかな～って考えたことがあって…。 「別の人生で千枝がポケモントレーナーだったら？」って、自分に問いかけちゃった(笑)。
まぁ、これは単なるファンとしての“もしも”なアイデアなんだけどね。 きっと人によっては「え～違うでしょ！」って思うかもしれないけど…
ここでは、千枝に合いそうだと思うポケモンを――世界観と性格の両方の面から、いくつか挙げてみたよ。
Oh yeah, speaking of which, I always wondered if Chie could have been a character represented in other games... one of them being Pokemons . So I actually asked myself, can Chie be a pokemon trainer in another life ? That's more of a cool fan idea more than anything, and you may actually disagree with my opinion. Here are the pokemons I think would fit Chie both in lore and in characteristics :

千枝の「愛」と「憎しみ」を深く探る
(A deep look into Chie’s love and hate)
里中千枝の「好き」と「嫌い」は、彼女という人間をそのまま映し出している。 彼女が格闘映画を愛するのは、ただ「かっこいい」からじゃない。そこには、彼女が憧れる強さ――勇気や正義、揺るがない心――があるからだ。だがその情熱の裏には、「弱くなりたくない」という不安が隠れている。彼女が嫌う「弱さ」は、実は他人ではなく、自分自身に向けた感情でもあるのだ。
千枝は友達が大好きだ。特に雪子との絆は、憧れと嫉妬が入り混じる複雑なもの。彼女は「女の子らしさ」を押し付けられることを何よりも嫌い、自分なりの「強さ」と「女性らしさ」を探している。そんな中で、牛丼への異常なほどの愛情は、彼女の明るくて素直な一面をよく表している。結局のところ、千枝の好き嫌いはすべて彼女の心の地図のようなものだ。強さを追い求めながら、本当の力は恐れを否定することではなく、それを受け入れた上で前に進むことだと気づいていく――そうして、彼女はただの憧れのヒーローではなく、自分自身のヒーローになっていくのだ。
Chie Satonaka’s likes and dislikes say everything about who she is. She loves martial arts movies not just because they’re cool, but because they show the kind of strength she dreams of — brave, righteous, unshakable. Deep down, that love hides her fear of being weak or left behind. Her dislike for “weakness” isn’t really about others; it’s about her own insecurities and wanting to feel worthy of the people she protects.
She loves her friends, especially Yukiko, though that bond is tangled with jealousy and admiration. Chie hates being forced into a “girly” box — she wants to define what being strong and feminine means for herself. And then there’s her silly love for beef bowls, which shows the lighter side of her — the part that’s genuine, simple, and full of life. In the end, her likes and dislikes form a map of her heart: a girl chasing strength, learning that real power doesn’t come from denying fear, but from facing it — and still standing tall.
そして、まさに私が千枝のことを好きな理由がこれだ。 彼女はゲーム（＋アニメや漫画のアダプテーション）の中で、唯一と言っていいほど「普通の女の子」として描かれている。無理に「可愛くてちょっと変わってるキャラ」を演じていない。千枝というキャラクターが多くの人にとって“現実的に理解できる”存在になっていること自体、すごいことだと思う。雪子やりせのように、ジャンルの中で「可愛い女の子」としての役割に収まろうとするわけでもなく、足立のように虚無的でも鬱的でもない。ただの田舎の女の子で、自分の「好きなもの」で女性らしさを定義している。それが本当に新鮮で、まるで空気が変わるような感覚になる。ようやく“男性の視線”のためではない、純粋に人間としての女性の姿が描かれている気がする。ただの感情と関係性、そのリアルさが心に響くんだ。
And this is exactly what i like about her, the way she, from all the others in the game (+anime manga adaptation) actually looks and act like a normal girl and not a cute quirky version of it. The fact that Chie's character makes sense to a lot of people, is actually insane.She isn't a cute girl that tries to fit in the genre like Yukiko or even Rise, and she isn't depressed or nihistic like Adachi, she's just a countryside girl that likes to define femininity by what she LIKES... Its like a breath of fresh air, an ACTUAL good woman representation for once and not an over-the-top male gaze thing, just human emotions and interaction.
もうひとつ注目したいのは、千枝と悠の関係だ（このルートを選んだ場合）。二人の関係はとても自然で、友情から恋愛へと穏やかに進んでいく。まったく無理のない、温かい流れなんだ。 つまり何が言いたいかというと――千枝は本当に丁寧に描かれたキャラクターだということ。これは「ペルソナ」シリーズのファンだから言うんじゃなくて、純粋にそう感じるからだ。千枝には、他のキャラよりもずっと人間らしい感情の揺れがあると思う。正直に言うと、彼女の物語がりせや直斗ほど深く掘り下げられなかったのは少し残念だった。でもそれに怒りはない。ただ、もう少し彼女のことを知りたかったなって思うだけ。でも考えてみれば、それもまた千枝らしいのかもしれない。派手さはなくても、素朴で人間味のある彼女だからこそ、その“シンプルさ”が魅力なんだと思う。
Another thing to point at is that Chie's canon relationship with Yu (if choosing this route) is built fondly and naturally, friends to lovers, and nothing too forced. What I mean is that she was extremely well-written, and I'm not even saying it because I'm a fan of the franchise, but because It is; Chie have way more human emotions than the others in my opinion, the only thing that I'm quite not fond with is how quick her story was almost irrelevent unlike Rise or Naoto but I am not mad at it, simply wishing there were more to discover... but It's part of her simple-and-human-like personality so I can't debate."愛：もし千枝が実はペルソナシリーズ全体の恋愛対象だったら?"

千枝のワードローブ、ざっくり分析
(“A Rough Look at Chie’s Wardrobe.”)
千枝の服装について
彼女のスタイルは『P4』でよく描かれているけど、もう少し深く見てみたい。デザイナーではないけど、ヒールの履きこなし方やコーデの組み方くらいはわかってる。千枝はスタイルよりも快適さと効率を優先し、流行より長く着られる服を選ぶタイプ。
イメージするなら、日本の静かな町で暮らす10代後半～20代前半の女の子。フェミニンだけど、街中の手頃な店やマーケットで買える服を選ぶ。『P5』のような都会的ブランドとは違う。
服の色にも意味がある。グリーンとイエローは『P4』のテーマであり、田舎の自然とテレビの世界の両方を表している。少し霧がかった雰囲気も含まれているけど、彼女は暗くない。
