big on games. mainly about that pc, android, retro, & tabletop. don't worry, i mean android for real gaming, not microtransaction-riddled dumpster fires.

My favorite genres are RPG, simulation, action/adventure (including text adventures), sandbox, some racing games, & sports games that put a unique, fun twist on the conventional (like NFL Blitz & Blitz: The League).

to name some of my favorites: stardew valley, the spyro series, the crash bandicoot series, cities: skylines, minecraft, euro truck simulator 2, american truck simulator, mabinogi, prominence, tony hawk's series, the chrono series, the star ocean series, the final fantasy series, terranigma (an absolute gem that deserves more love); thrasher: skate & destroy; ingress; pokemon go.

i've got a passions for bikes. my style is bmx cruising, on whatever sort of bike one can cruise on & do a lil flatland. it ties nicely into my love of urbanism, in the old-fashioned church-centered sense. cities, towns, & regions where neighborhoods are neighborly, values prevail centered around the pulpit, & one has true transportation choice (whether that be biking, walking, driving, motorbiking, or skating) are what's up.

standing against bigotry means not only opposing anti-blackness, but also antisemitism, anti-Asian hatred, anti-Indigenous sentiments, & folks hating on our Indian neighbors. ain't nobody got time for that mess, y'all.

Music

video game/chiptune is my main jam, alongside jazz, soul, gospel, (classy) r&b, (classy) hip hop & rap, light rock, classic (pre-1995) country (and any newer country that emulates such). but overall if something (a) has class, & (b) actually sounds like music with melody (sorry scream-o)... I'll prob like it.

Movies

I hardly ever watch movies. Maybe 2 a year. But on the very rare occasion I do watch them, it's usually because I really liked a book that got turned into one (The City of Ember; Fahrenheit 451), it's great satire (Idiocracy), or it's otherwise able to hold my attention (generally comedies). It's funny; I can play a 40-hour role-playing game just fine but a 2 hour movie... eh. It's probably the fact video games are interactive & movies aren't.

Television

old-fashioned "TV" TV: almost nothing new interests me except the revivals of Match Game, Millionaire, & Press Your Luck. The vast, vast majority of TV shows I like are older ones—especially sitcoms, game shows, detective shows, "judge" shows; & cartoons.

for some examples: Mama's Family; Sanford & Son; Knight Rider; Ed, Edd n Eddy; Tom & Jerry; Looney Tunes; Blockbusters; the classic Gene Rayburn Match Game; Lingo; Whammy (GSN version); Monk; My Wife and Kids; Judge Mathis; The People's Court.

Actually, as I composed this, I thought of another one of the very short list of new/still-running shows that interests me: Teen Titans Go! (No, I didn't much care for the original Teen Titans. Yes, I'm like that.)

Now, if one counts *internet* shows (like YouTubers) as "TV"... well then, you've got one of my main media consumption habits. One of these days I'll share my entire YouTube subs list via RSS somehow, but for now know that my genres are video game analysis & commentary (including & especially gaming comedy); documentary; no-bull news & civics; meteorology; gardening & horticulture; the arts & sciences in general; & general curiosities. (To name one specific channel: Shane Luis & Adam on Rerez are truly what's up!)

Books

fiction: the Ember series; the Sookie Stackhouse series; Fahrenheit 451 & other Ray Bradbury works (he tried to warn us, y'all); Tom Clancy's works; Appleseed by Matt Bell; Escape from Fred;... I guess I really *do* have a thing for dystopian & post-apocalyptic literature. heh.
