Thanks! I wanted to be comprehensive because I wanted a better chance to find people. Plus some people like reading long things, so I chose to keep it just to be sure. Though I do know most people want short versions. Maybe I'll have that covered at some point :P

I honestly saw the tech related stuff coming because that seemed to be the specific theme. Anything stand out tech-wise?

god everything, but currently i'm very into game dev and web design/dev just because of how much room for expression there is; also i appreciate ur appreciation for media preservation and i used to exclusively use foobar2000 because of the themes and star ratings i use spotify now for simplicity and convenience i wish they had that! there needs to be a music social media with more customization and expression almost like myspace and soundcloud lol. all the games u like are also dope if u like bioshock and ultrakill u should try dishonored fs

I find myself unable to sink lots of time into programming to learn it so web/game design is likely not for me, but it's always cool what devs do when they're bored and the funny rage stories that come from technical issues when you finally get it :P

media preservation is important because i feel strongly about it. every day we're losing a lot of good history from obscure to famous, be it a random game update that was released for only a few hours to whole tv episodes! piracy for the most part is a medium that counts as preservation but i do also care about preservation in general! lost media is intruiging and even i've lost shit i used to make on youtube so in a way i'm basically my own lost media :PP

spotify is convenience on mobile because it's purely the only reliable thing that'll scrobble AND appear on discord at once, but other than that there's no redeeming qualities. everything is locked behind a paywall and spotify's mobile app might as well have been neutered into shit. i'm not paying a million years for premium after being fucked so much and it's worse on iOS because without any way to sideload, you're 100% fucked.

foobar2000 just proved to be reliable and fit every corner i need i want except being consistently stable, but that's what happens when you let anybody develop an addon for something LOL. it does the job and it does everything i want from rating tracks to scrobbling, discord status, visualizers and even track bookmarks, and if you know where to look i can top it with playlist folders. i'm just biased because it just works and that's what i prefer. i heard musicbee was also good on pc but it was a few featured shorts of what i wanted so i ended up not using it, but the ability to add descriptions to playlists is something i miss
the theme community for fb2k is really good though! foobox (dui) and georgia reborn (columns) look best but i stick with a minimal theme of my own because it ensures i have every feature i want and how i like it

there def needs to be a social media about music, i originally was thinking something like piclog but for audio where you can share heavily compressed versions of audio snippets, but something like myspace would be cool! i'm looking for bandcamp alternatives until i have a way to get paid digitally, so something like bandcamp with social aspects would be cool as fuck and maybe it would get all the soulless music accounts out of here :sob:

i've already tried dishonored holy fuck, dishonored mention!!! i got stuck on the first game and the second kinda runs like ass but they're amazing games and i really love the concept the game serves you, i forgot to list it :p
