[amasingly accurate potrayal of what autism can look like with the struggles of being a woman through the protagonist]

੭ৎ Anne of Green Gables
[one of my favourite favourite comfort books of all time!! The protagonist is so precious and is widely agreed to be autistic- its realistic and fenomenal and a very acessible book!!]

੭ৎ A study in Scarlet
[Sherlock Holmes is definetly on this list I mean..a genius with 0 emotional integrity and 0 social skills?? hell yeah!!! Please please watch the BBC show too, it's one of my all time favourite shows him and his sister are such good examples of disability and truama intertwined]

੭ৎThe Curious incident of the Dog in the Night-time
[This one is such a good portrayal of ways in which neurodivergent people behave when faced with extreme situations, for some neurotypicals I feel you may think at first the mc's behaviours are frustrating but to commemorate disability pride month, if you are neurotypical, I think this book is a great way to challenge your mindset and understand the community a bit more!!

[A very diverse cast with really good portayals of things like PTSD, mobility disabilities and dyslexia!!

੭ৎ Radio Silence
[ Explores various obstacles and barriers that are often faced amongst young people exploring themes of identity, sexuality, anxiety, depression and pressure, many of the cast are neurodivergant-coded and its just such an amazing book in genral tbh ]

੭ৎ I hear the sunspot
[This one's a manga!! It's a queer story exploring the struggles of the mc who lost his hearing and the growth of the relationship between him and his classmate who helps him throughout his new scary journey along the way. I think it's such a heartfelt manga and their relationship is just so pure and gut wrenching °՞(ᗒᗣᗕ)՞°]

੭ৎ A silent voice
[Another manga for the hearing community im already sobbinggg, both the anime and the manga are so raw and overwhelming, if you already watched/read it, then you should definetly do a re watch/read this month!! Its important to appreciate and understand the struggles of those with disabilities not just be aware of them!]

੭ৎThe Bell Jar
[Tackles depression and is essentially a book about the maddening decent of a su*cidal woman, I think this one is especially raw due to being semi-autobiographical, it's probably the most intimate work of Sylvia Plath. Mentall illness and mental disabilities are NOT the same thing, BUT these illnesses can by all means become disabling if they are severe and can lead to iscolation, su*cidal tendensies and SH so shouldn't be seen as 'less damaging'!!]
