But most of all, Samy is my hero. Who gets the reference? Also, a fun fact: by random circumstance, Samy was once my boss at my first software engineering role in Los Angeles! He's a pretty cool guy. |

Noah's Blurbs
About me:
Hello! ππ» I'm Noah.
Born & raised in Michigan, I spent my full 20's in Los Angeles working as a software developer and now I live near Portland, OR.
I've been on the Internet since about 1999. At 12 years old, I taught myself how to write HTML to build my own websites and I've kept the spirit of personal home pages alive ever since then. MySpace was my childhood, so this site is super nostalgic!
I am 37yo, he/him, gay, in a relationship since 2018. π³οΈβπ β ποΈ
My Neocities site:
Check out my "modern retro home page," created in 2025 and hosted on Neocities!
Are you on Neocities too? Follow my profile!

My top projects:
Some of my biggest hobbies and longest lived projects include:
-
My tech blog and personal homepage, Kirsle.net. I've had the domain since I was in high school, and have always kept a cool personal website even as the modern Internet moved on.
My site has blog posts about all my favorite niche topics (especially about software development, Linux, retro computing and virtual machines), as well as some artwork and info about my projects.
-
My videogame project, Sketchy Maze. It is a "drawing-based maze game" themed around hand-drawn maps on paper. It is inspired from my childhood, where I used to draw my own mazes or 2D platformer-style game levels on paper & pencil and then I would "play" them with my imagination.
With Sketchy Maze you can draw your own level freehand and make it look like anything you want, and you decide which colors are solid and which are fire. Then, you can drag and drop 'doodads' into your level, such as keys, doors, buttons and enemies to make it interesting. And you can even program your own custom doodads too and make them do whatever you want!
It's one part "Mario Maker but you can draw anything" and another part "flexible 2D side scrolling game engine" where your imagination is the limit!
- My chatbot language, RiveScript. I first learned how to program because I wanted to make chatbots to run on AOL Instant Messenger and MSN Messenger. I eventually created my own 'scripting language' for programming the chatbot's personality itself, and ported it to multiple programming languages, from its original Perl library to JS, Java, Python and Go.
- Adults only (NSFW): I also built nonshy.com, a social networking site for nudists & exhibitionists, in 2022 and it may be my most successful side project yet with over 8,700 members and counting, and I don't even do much to advertise it!
Customary embedded song:
A song that's stuck in my head and it really slaps:
Who I'd like to meet:
Anybody who is kind and cool.
Meeting some actual space aliens or spiritual creatures (if there is any difference between the two) could also be pretty cool.
