Heroes	Fr. Mychal Judge — pray for us! Fr. Mychal Judge was the very first official victim when the 9/11 attacks occurred. The Franciscan Friar was well known in the northeast, particularly NYC, for his genuine adoration for people, especially the LGBTQ+ community. At the time of his death, he was NYFD Chaplain and was in complete priest and fire uniform, when a piece of debris came crashing into the North Tower from the South Tower, striking him in the head and killing him. The picture taken of him being carried out by his firefighter coworkers has been likened to Michelangelo’s “Pieta.” There are celebrations in Ireland every September 11, to honor his ancestry and his Irish father. I can only be so lucky to live up to his example in life of holiness, virtue, and charity.
