nirvana, deftones, ichiko aoba, billie eilish, ryuichi sakamoto, frank sinatra, foo fighters, radiohead, akira kosemura, chopin, poison girl friend, nujabes, the smiths, vgm... i have pretty varied taste and it's hard to find something i don't like! i really love grunge and shoegaze, but i also love whatever genre lamp is, and jazz and classical music are great too. tower records shibuya is my favourite place on earth!! i collect cassettes and still have a working walkman from the 80s!! i also love buying CDs but seem to be an expert at scratching them immediately…

Movies

wong kar-wai, ryusuke hamaguchi, park chan-wook, and satoshi kon are my favourite directors, but i loved everything everywhere all at once! my favourite movies are the aforementioned EEAAO, drive my car, fallen angels, in the mood for love, perfect blue, the extended LOTR trilogy, scott pilgrim vs the world (the comics are better tho!), and there will be blood.

Television

i recently binge watched arcane! i loved it so much and it quickly became my favourite show ever! i don't watch that much else anyway beyond anime. my favourites are neon genesis evangelion, chainsaw man (i love the manga too!), bungo stray dogs, mob psycho 100, the case study of vanitas, berserk (the 90s series), naoki urasawa’s monster, naruto (i watched it as a kid!), and i can’t wait to start the junji ito tales of the macabre series as a huge fan of his works!

Books

ryu murakami and j.d. salinger are two of my favourite authors. i mostly read old/classic japanese literature. my top recommendations (both classic and modern) are if cats disappeared from the world, convenience store woman, brief loves that live forever, lonely castle in the mirror (TOP recommendation!!), heaven (mieko kawakami), and then there were none, kokoro (natsume-sensei), no longer human, the catcher in the rye, in the miso soup (exercise heavy caution and look up content warnings), slaughterhouse five, snow country (yasunari kawabata, another TOP recommendation!!!!), and strange weather in tokyo. i recently began to read some mieko kawakami books too, and will read the vegetarian (han kang) soon!
