Dr. Death's Interests

General	I'm boring. I enjoy music (see below), cooking, birdwatching, reading nonfiction, and fostering cats. I help people live and die well for a living. My favorite things are staying at home with my SO and cats while reading scientific articles or textbooks. I also enjoy teaching. I've recently transitioned to a different professional role and will have more free time to pursue hobbies. Things I'd like to learn about include: gardening, composting, sewing and making my own clothes, food science, and web development.
Music	genres I like, in no particular order atmospheric sludge metal / post-metal sludge metal doom metal / 'doomgaze' punk, post-punk, post-punk revival, skate punk shoegaze slowcore slacker rock garage rock, garage punk post-hardcore gothic rock new wave, coldwave, darkwave new rave, dance punk emo, midwest emo, “swancore”, screamo post-hardcore indie, indie rock, indietronica cabaret pop trip-hop, downtempo neo-psychedelia, or old school psychedelia post-grunge electronic, techno some of my favorites artists in no order Margot & The Nuclear So and So's / Richard Edwards Emma Ruth Rundle / Marriages Spotlights Avenade Holy Fawn ACTORS Poison the Well Nana Grizol AFI Port O'brien The National Death Cab for Cutie Dear and the Headlights The Used I'm more of an album than artist person. I tend to hyperfixate on one artist or album for months or years at a time. Oops. It does this scene-ior citizen's heart so much good to see such a resurgence of MCR fans.
Movies	Lo, the Demon Rocky Horror Picture Show Alice in Wonderland( the OG version) Eternal Sunshine Ex Machina The Road Mother! a simple sucker for all things Wes Anderson The Lobster The Truman Show Coraline Knives Out Manchester by the Sea Elf I didn't grow up watching a lot of movies.
Television	Great British Bake Off Severance House Monsters Inside Me Dr. G, Medical Examiner Bob's Burgers Golden Girls King of the Hill The Handmaid's Tale Parks & Rec What We Do in the Shadows Downton Abbey You Frasier Seinfeld How It's Made I don't watch a lot of television either.
Books	non-fiction & poetry mostly I also enjoy dystopian fiction anything science-related, especially biology or drug-related love some good philosophy too though oh and anthropology / sociology / cultural histories favorite poets currently include Arthur Rimbaud, Charles Baudelaire, Paul Verlaine, Anna Akhmatova, and Arseny Tarkovsky. I cannot remember the books I've read any more than the meals I have eaten; even so, they have made me. Ralph Waldo Emerson
