Thanks, Allie. You're kind to say that. :) Do you have anything lined up for the weekend?

I’m just speaking the truth. :) The weather is going to be really nice so I’m going to try to make it he most of it. I’ll probably go hiking and explore places I’ve never been. What about you?

That's great that the weather's been nice where you are! We had a pretty good stretch here during the week (we were able to get outside quite a bit, which was GREAT), but now we've returned to our usual rain and gloomy skies since the weekend started. Did a lot of work around the house today, but fortunately tomorrow is stuff like online church, watching a movie, etc., so hopefully it will be loads of fun! Did you stumble across some new/exciting/interesting places on your hike(s)?

That sounds like the perfect Sunday! Yes, I discovered some very cool places today on my hikes! The first hike I went on had such beautiful stone formations and caves. The second hike was beside a beautiful creek. It’s the perfect place to stop and have a picnic at. I hope you have a great day! :)

Oooo, those sound like great spots. There's a place my wife and I (and our daughter once she was old enough!) had found that we liked to go to once or twice a year where we could do some hikes through a paricular section of a forest we like, but then we had another kiddo and it's been a couple years since we've had a proper vacation and so we've been unable to head back there. Maybe this will be the year? :D At any rate, I'm glad you got to get out and enjoy yourself like that.

Also, our Sunday included a team scavenger hunt in our neighborhood, plus an unexpected ice cream treat after that, so that was fun. :)

I’m hoping this is the year for you get back there! I love scavenger hunts and unexpected ice cream treats are the best! I’m glad you had a great day! :)

Me too (to all of what you wrote). I need a vacation like nobody's business! :D I took a lot of solo days off this past summer, but they were often more like "Catch up with things around the house" days than any sort of days off, so I could definitely use a breather! But yeah, it's been a mild winter here and things are turning a corner with going out and about, and we've finally reached the stage with our youngest where we can probably start thinking of trips again, so I'm hopeful this will be the year we get at least one really good, long trip to the coast in! :)

By the way, I love that bit you include on your bio about (paraphrasing here) having nothing to show off but how happy your family makes you. I couldn't agree more. My wife and kids are the apples of my eyes, so to speak, and that is DEFINITELY not a bad thing! I'm glad you and your family are happy and blessed! :)

Awww. :) Thanks for your kind words. You seem like a cool woman. What kind of songs do you write? Also, LOVE your comment about pretty much always having a song in your head—that is me, BIG TIME, ha ha! I once told a co-worker how I could stand the boring temp job I had at the time, and I said, "Look, it's noon, and I've already gone end-to-end through a Collective Soul album in my head, as well as one from Stone Temple Pilots, Live, and Veruca Salt. I'm doing just fine."

by Brian Palmer; ; Report

Yes! I totally get that. I used to do call center and cashier jobs all through university and I would have a playlist in the back of my head to make the time go faster. I'm never bored lol.
I haven't written much in the last 5 years (Yay for having toddlers) but starting to get back into it now. Most of what I write would be alternative rock.
How old are your kids? Do you find it to be a juggling act to have hobbies?
