About me:

ㅤ Salem Stark Painter/ Mixed Media/ Sticker Collages Mediums: Acrylic, Neon, Color Shift and Metallic paint on canvas Salem Stark is a local Reno/Sparks artist. Self-taught painter who uses eyes and Rorschachs as a focus in abstract paintings. A suicide survivor and an advocate for Mental Health Awareness: Salem found solace in painting. “Eyes are the windows to the soul. But for me the eyes are much more than that. Eyes are the witness to the good, bad, and the book keeper to our memories. I like to think that with every creation I make, I am passing on an emotion generated by my happiness, sadness, hatred, and anxiety. By sharing these creations with others, is to reveal myself to the world. That behind my mask, is just a man who wants to be seen again.” In November of 2020, Salem was given a few small canvases, brushes and a few colors of acrylic paint. That day he had painted his first creation, Witness Child 1. Which was the start of his Witness 9 Collection. From there, within a few months Salem had a total of 66 creations by the end of May 2021. Various collections the My Fellow Americans Collection, SIckology Collection, and The Tarot Collection have been created. Within the past year, his creations have been displayed in galleries such as: NV Fine Arts, The Generator, Reno Art Works, Sierra Arts Foundation, and The Potentialist. He has also been featured in shows such as: Mind Games, Reno Punk Rock Flea Market, Cupid's Curse, and Skyscapes. Salem's most recent acheivement was being 1 of 12 artists to compete in Reno's first ever Art Battle.
